Once you've played an S2 it's hard to look back. It's the ultimate do-anything bass. :)
thanks again mate....not looking like anyone has the pennies for this....or are they lurking for a price drop????

  2.
oooerrr! don't do that, someone might be watching :) after all its just a bass, but one you'll probably never have the opportunity to own ever ever again! dig deep.
i dug deep for my pre spitfire gb in 1999...she's still blowing away the competition with ease today....if you can at all sqeeze the money out for this amazing bit of kit you realy should....

  3.
Well, I play regular at a pub called the Black Horse in Darwen. There's not an open night as such, but there's good opportunities to get gigs if you're looking to get some. Our guitarist runs Darwen Music Projects and we've had some cracking live bands on featuring Mike Walker, Gary Boyle etc. In fact, in a couple of weeks a jazz trio featuring Gavin Barras is on. He's a great up and coming upright and electric player. Not sure if he's on this forum? But to be fair, live music is on the decline in and around Blackburn, which is a shame. If it wasn't for our guitarist, there would be even less! We've got some gigs coming up in Preston and the Hop Pocket in Chorley this week.

My band isn't a strict jazz band, more a band that plays unusual blues covers and some jazz standards thrown in etc. We're called The Cottonhouse Shakers (myspace.com/thecottonhouseshakers) and all members hail from different backgrounds. The drummer plays an eKit for example and used to run a laptop band called Semihere, the keys player and myself ran a band called False Negative for 5 years and Gary is from Gone Beggin'... it's all good though :)
welcome aboard...i'm just upth' road in sunny oswaldtwistle.....let us know when /where barras is playing ,i'll defo have a look in...

  4.
It works for me. I've had it some time and I've had no need to change and have had no lustings after anything else... The only thing I am waiting for it for EBS to bring out a class D head with the TD650 sound so I can have an uber portable 1 cab set up!
now that would be awesome......the my td 650 is just a little too bulky to fit nicely into my new car!!with the 4x10 an 2x10 cabs, light rig,2 basses and cable bag.

  5.
Quite true, the basic price of a new one would be £1425 before the custom finish, which I'd guess would put at least another couple of hundred onto the price.

To give you an example, to change the spec of a bolt on Status model from satin finish lacquer to custom gloss polyester lacquer costs £350. So this kind of paint job is going to be very expensive if you order it. There's also the matter of the 16 week wait on orders at the moment...

So even at £1200 this is a bargain point to start talking numbers with Al here & I'm sure he'll knock you some off for a quick sale :)
cheers for the back up otpj......oh look,i've bumped it back to page one....ooops!

  6. alder body...metallic blue finish....chrome hardware...19mm string spacing.... board 302....
as far as i know it's a one off colour/finish combo in great condition...(one ding on the thinner section of the under-arm rear end of the body.thanks to a tool of drummer!!!)i'll get some pics and post on here asap.ding can't be seen from front or back of the bass and as soon as it's strapped on it's under your arm.
hiscox case and a few sets of 35 db hotwires thrown in too.....amazing looking bass in the flesh, plays like a dream..very punchy hi-fi status sounds as you'd expect.
    £999......sold!!
