This is 5-string version of the monster bass, TRB series. TRB was born as a versatile 6-string bass guitar along with the greater involvement of synthesizers in music in end of 1980s. TRB has been developed to cover low tonal range with a 6th string (low , which could not be reached by orthodox 4-string bass, and also the 1st (high C) makes possible for advanced players for further improvisation and expression.
It's in Translucent black! -
This is a very good five string, bought to try out to see if I like a five. I don't! Haha
It's in a gator hard case, there are some scuffs and stuff but it didn't put me off buying it. I'm in Oxenhope, West Yorkshire. £400 ono, I can email you photos if you get in touch. The finish is the swirly black thing. It's nice. 😃 -
I forgot to add, that I'm in Oxenhope , West Yorkshire.

I am selling the beloved 'big un'. It's a monster of a bass. Not a mark on it, comes with a Hiscox yamaha case. It delivers more low end than BEELZEBUB!!!
I only really play my jazz now and I need some cash. I can email photographs if you get in touch. £500 ono -
Well I'm chuffed to bits, I've had an email from Barefaced to say that my supertwin will be ready in time for a very busy period. Phew. . A lot of worry over nothing. But thanks guys. I have played a friends Barefaced and it is beautiful. Huge sounding but still crystal clear.
-
Yeah man, thanks. My head is now imploding with different cabs, brands and speaker sizes now. Aaaaaagh
Just seen Bergantino I think?? Ampeg, markbass, laney nexus, there are SO many..............:/ -
LOUD band, I'm now thinking 810 or 410 & 115.
-
I've had a pair, they sound great. Easy to throw about, I just need more fire power.
-
Right, cool beans man. What's the 15" like? I was just checking out markbass as well. But my local shop is a hartke dealer.
-
And does it cope with a low B?
-
Yup , agreed. Good lad.
-
Hahaha, I have absolutely no idea what your talking about
I just want to know that it's efficient, I've got a Barefaced ordered but I fear it won't be ready in time so I'm looking at my options. -
Cool, cheers, was still good at 300 watts?
-
Hi, has anybody got any experience with these? Good ,bad, ugly?
Particularly running an HA5500 into it at 8 ohms, meaning 300watts of power. And how it coped with a decent band setting?
Cheers guys -
Well, having had the five string for a few days now and I am finding that the option of being able to play stuff in different positions great. For the band that I'm depping with this week it is making the set list a lot easier. But I'm definitely not 100% yet, but given more time and practice, I'm sure I will make the change quite happily.
This instrument itself is awesome, I love the sound and the eq is really good. I went for a TRB off here in the end. Very nice chap in Leeds sold me it . -

I think by having more options it'll make some things easier to play ie off the c on the E string. You can drop in to the g without a massive stretch. Economy/efficiency type thing.
-
Wow, that's a lot of advice chaps. After a lot of debate, I'm going for it!! Both feet. I'm gonna get an SR 605 , and do this thing!!
-
I've been playing a few years now, all in covers bands. And it will probably stay that way. Do I take the leap and add another string for the versatility? I understand that it takes some getting used to, so there is no point swapping between 5 and 4 until you're cool with it.
Advice and opinions please ? -
Hello, where abouts are you?
