  1. Hi all,

looking for some advice (though I suspect I may be opening a can of worms!)

I have an old Peavey TNT100 combo which I acquired in the 70s and love the sound of - but it weighs a ton and my increasingly decrepit frame can't cope with heaving it about!

I am hoping to have a little bit of cash coming my way soon and have been seriously considering buying something more manageable to replace it - but what?

Any suggestions as to a not too expensive, light-as-possible alternative (head + cab probably rather than combo) that would give me the most similar sound? I play a Spector Kramer NS-2 and a GWB35 fretless through it, and don't really need anything louder than the Peavey.

    Cheers in anticipation!

  2. I've just dug this out of my cupboard and might consider parting with it if the price is right!

Completely original Roland Phase II AP-2 phaser pedal, owned by me since the early seventies. Made in Japan (even has katana characters on the bottom plate!) and in full working order...

... except that today when I took the batteries out after cleaning and trying it out to make sure it still worked ok (which it did), one of the battery connector pins came off one of the plugs when I pulled out the battery again! DOHHH...

I have the detatched pin so it could be soldered back on, or the battery connector replaced, but I thought I'd leave it as is rather than cut the plastic connector cover so it remains exactly as original for now.

The pedal hasn't been much used, but it does have a 2cm scuff on one corner of the casing (and a few other minor marks). Both pots work fine, but there is a very little noise from the resonance one when adjusting it (but not during use).

Anyone interested? It has a lovely warm tone and a good range of adjustment. Might sell or (p/)exchange for octave/chorus pedal, slicer, or WHY... ?

  3. Good grief Phil, I didn't expect to see YOU posting in introductions!!!!

Sorry to hear about the shunt - sue for personal injury!

btw the fretless arrived in the post half an hour ago - neat :) And amazingly I can almost play it!

    See you after the hols.

ps Bilbo - he's my bass tutor and oh yes, he can play...

  4. I have an original Mutron III, serial no 07814, complete with its original box. I aquired this in the 70s from the bassist in a band I was playing with at the time (I was originally a drummer and dabbled with bass) but I don't use it and I think it ought to go to someone whou would appreciate it!

It's in very good condition and full working order - there are a couple of very minor marks on the foot plate and the battery carrier has some corrosion on it, but otherwise it's pretty much mint - it's never been seriously gigged and has sat in a cupboard for most of the last 25 years!

I was advised by a friend to advertise it on here rather than on Ebay or similar as you guys would appreciate it - Offers?

    Andy

    ****thanks guys now sold!****
