Plan D: Just bought one of these: https://www.studiospares.com/studiospares-speaker-isolation-riser-465310.htm
Probably couldn't make one for that cost!
Just bought one of these. It is very similar to my old Gramma pad but much more affordable.

Hi from Evesham, Frankie.

I have a PJ bass and the tone control just rolls off the treble. I believe that P basses are similar.

I'm 73 and am playing better than I did when I was 23 - I'm not as fast these days but the music is more important than me.

Hi from another Worcestershire dweller. I am in Evesham.

I used to own a Snark but it died. I then bought a TC Polytune and when I lost it, I replaced it ASAP with another Polytune. It has never let me down and works much better than the old Snark.

And what do I do when I have to play an octave where the higher note is played twice right after one another? Do I just use the same finger?
I use my first finger to play the low note and alternate between my second and ring fingers for the high note. You will just have to experiment to see what feels right for you.
Playing octaves after two weeks of playing bass sounds a little too advanced to me. There is a lot more basic stuff that needs to be mastered first.

I agree with most of the posts: it is never too late. I was 73 last June and am in 2 bands: a jazz quartet and a country band. Both bands do covers. I have discovered that if you show up for the audition on time and fully-prepped, you will blow away most of the competition.

Technically brilliant. But does that make him a technician or a musician?

Hi. I have a Spectradrive and there are lots of Toneprints available for the drive and compressor but I don't think you can edit them in the Toneprint app.

Just bought a chorus pedal from Alex. Fast shipping, well-packaged, good communication and the pedal works perfectly. In short, a very smooth transaction.

It is working for me too. Thank you.

Same here. It stopped working sometime this afternoon. It was working okay this morning.

Is the 5th Dimension pedal still available?

Ok thank you, so if you were to play the A on the E string (5th fret), do you play on the dot or on the line? Do you have a price in mind for if you sell yours?
You play on the lines. I will probably ask £500 for the Ibanez. It is a great bass but I do not play in a band that needs it.
