  1. HI,
    Seeking help on something.

On a Yamaha TRB 5 I was playing there are five control knobs.
Two above three as you look at them. What does each do though ????
I get the two top ones I think being volume and pickup blend...??

The bottom three are where Im stuck. The middle is not a full sweep like the outside two, it has three clicks to move through.

Can anyone help me out ???

    Thanks

  2. Some more info.
The instruments have two differently-mounted transducers beneath the adjustable bridge for sound. There is a switch to toggle between them for bowing (arco) and plucking (pizzicato), because the strings vibrate differently under the bow than when plucked; each pickup in the "Polar Pickup" system is specialized for each task. The system is passive, with just a single volume and tone control (Unlike the CR and EU basses, which have an active preamp built-in).

    Specifications copied from somewhere .

  3. Nearest sensible offer will acquire a bargain. £675 ono is the pricetag.
This was bought secondhand. On my receiving it there was the slightest blemish on the edge at the rear of the body adjacent to the corner of the cover and I have struggled to photo it. It is totally unseen from the front and visible only if you go for really close inspection; but disclosed it is.
Plays beautifully, comes with the soft case/bag and will be packed well for posting in its box.

Should also mention it comes with a tripod stand which fits into the large pocket in the carrying case..

    Any questions just ask.[/indent]

Personally Id go for a Westfeild small body bass. Really lightweight, playable neck, decent tone no fuss or hastle, plus fairly cheap and price but not build (from my experience).

I would agree with this. I think I paid about £49.00 for one of these new about 7 years ago for my son when he was 8 yrs old.

He has now graduated to EUB, 4 and 5 string bass and double bass too in county orchestra.

    Westfield, cheap as chips, stayed in tune, did what it was meant to and he didnt care that it said Westfield on it;

and for £49 I didnt care if he played bass or cricket with it.

Sold it on for the same price as I paid for it on gumtree 4 years later. Total bargain.
