1. Here's a picture from the last show, had to move things around because i ended up sharing the keys with the guitarist on some tunes so needed more room.

Which synth does the fattest bass sounds? :)
Out of the 3 synths there, IMO the bass station does the fattest bass sound.

  2. Working with a new electronic project at the moment so thought i'd share some pictures of my setup.

We've got a Moog Little Phatty, Novation Bass Station II, Roland Gaia & a Novation Impulse all routed into a Motu Microlite Midi interface & Motu Ultralite MK3.

This is all then patched into MainStage to control all backing tracks, synth patches & volumes etc...

  3.
Also, because bass and synth bass together were a key part of Michael’s sound, there were even sections of “Wanna Be Startin’ Something” and “Billie Jean” that I was playing bass and Minimoog together! I’d turn up my bass volume and really dig in with my left hand, hammering the notes, like on upright, while playing keyboard with my right hand
Alex Al had to do it in the rehearsals for this is it.

Hi everyone , im new to this forum and i already need help :P for my music course at school my group have decided to play Elton Johns step into Christmas but unfortunately i cannot find any tab and just playing the root of the chords isn't my thing so i was wondering if anyone has any tabs or tutorials they could share with me? many thanks in advance :D

I don't want sound sound patronising in any way but if you're entering a 'music course' maybe you should sit down for a little bit & study music. I'm not talking about being able to sight read music but learn the basics of music theory & harmony?

    Just my opinion.

Wish I could play as badly as that!

Thats really kind mate. When i watch the above video i cringe throughout but that may be due to watching my self and seeing mistakes and general sloppiness from my pov. But saying that, thank you.

  6. I recorded this for a function band a while ago.

It's not the best playing on my part but it may help.

    EDIT:

Here's what i had written down for a basis of the main groove. And then a chord chart. There are variations through out the groove though so be aware of that.

  7. I've been waiting to see what they were going to come up with for a while now. Personally i don't like it.

They are great players & have some great ideas but my issue with this song compared to the covers is just that.

The song is IMO really weak. Their covers were from 'well written' pop songs. That's what made it interesting to me.

I'm interested to hear the album but for now i'm left feeling pretty cold about them.

It is indeed (only just seen this  ), top keys player. I'm playing with him in a band called Electric Lounge. For our last gig we had Ali Roy singing too who I'm sure you're familiar with :)

Indeed i do. Again, a great singer.
