Is there any way a bass can be shielded from this?

Does it happen to all guitars or just those with active pickups ?

Venue has recently installed a loop and the bass is back to being fine with no feedback

I have a 82 jazz with emg pickups. Not used that often but at a gig last night I was getting very hf feedback and could hear the audience from my amp. Sounded like they may have gone micrphonic. The only thing I have recently is put in a new Duracell battery. The old battery had leaked.

Any ideas what I could do to test or fix?
Also any recommendations for nice passive jazz pickups? I may have to get replacements

I have just got hold of one of these pedals second hand but am not happy with the overdrive sound. When I turn up the drive control the sound cracks up and there is a loud HF whistle. Maybe my pedal isn't working right. Should the overdrive sound smooth? If so I may try getting another one

I use Spiro weich EAD with an Oliv G and love the sound and feel. The Oliv is a bit pricey so I got one off here in vgood condition a couple of years ago.

The thing is that it has recently started to lose tuning between gigs by a good semi-tone or more. This hasn't happened to this extent before, although it always needs a slight tweak to get in tune. It could be due to the warm humid weather, i guess. I am so used to having old spiros that don't break that I am am a bit worried this G is going to snap on a gig.

My question
Is this Oliv G on it's way out? / How long do they last?

If so, does anyone have one going cheap?
