That's absolutely lovely. All original (apart from the control knobs, right?) and largely unmolested - the 3" woodscrew 'fix' in the neck was depressingly common.

It has another classic 1964/65 feature, which is the one-piece back.

Taken to the right luthier, or in the hands of a decent amateur, this will scrub up very nicely. The neck reset is easy if you know what you're doing, and the electrics on a vintage Hofner are not exactly challenging.

So long as the trussrod works fine, this is a good buy.

    Completelly true!

A really nice bass for a really nice price!

  2. There was a point in my life (late 80's/early 90's) when I was hearing music like there was no tommorrow - I had to do something about it - I had to be a part of it!

Some of my friends started playing guitar, but I was attracted to bass - Santa Cruz skate movies (now classic) were a very huge influence, due to bands like these

  3. Just my 2 cents:

Back when I started to play, I couldn't care less if they played a million chops, it was all about the image - that's one of the reasons it made me want to play bass (that, and the emotion and amazing sound one gets just by touching bass strings :) )
