Greetings rumblers, although I've joined the club immediately to sell some instruments I realise that I haven't introduced myself. How rude.
My name's Joel, 22, have been playing since mid-teens, have just come out of playing with a indie-rock-ish uni band, and am now bassing with a Midlands based function band. Much Stevie Wonder n all that.
In the beginning...there was a cheap AXL jazz bass copy.
'Merica' was the son of AXL, a weird but lovely thru-neck beasty, which was pretty.
Ibanez SRX305 was the son of 'Merica', can't say I loved it
Aria IGB-68 was the son of Ibanez, and had low action and was punchy - needs selling
Sterling by Musicman SB14 was the son of Aria, shiny and chuggy
And finally Warwick Corvette 5 was the son of Sterling, who growls at strangers.
A shining star in the east hangs over a Fender US jazz (deluxe?) or Stingray somewhere I hope.
Nice to meet y'all
(p.s. This is me trying to prove that bass playing can even happen in Gatecrasher club, Brum)
