Have fun. I still reckon the best gig I've ever been to was Radiohead in 2000 during their big top tour.

I saw them during that tour too - It's one of the best gigs I've been to. -
I think Flea's a great player, great technique and I always thought his basslines were interesting ... I just wish the songs on the last couple of albums showed as much imagination as his basslines do.

markbass do a velcro one that sticks to your cab (if it's carpet covered of course) an dI've seen one that clips onto a table before too...

I saw the markbass one and thought there must be a cheap way of doing it. So I got hold of a couple of Velcro cable ties from a mate, wrapped one vertically around the side handle of my speaker cab and slipped the other one underneath so that it goes horizontally - and then I wrap this around the neck of my bass to hold it upright. It works pretty well. -
No particular order and just people who made me want to start playing bass and are the biggest influences on how I try to play
Bernard Edwards
Jaco
Mani
Darryl Jones
Ron Carter
Les Claypool
Mick Karn
John Taylor
Sting
Stuart Zender
My Top Ten Most Played Songs by Pub & Function 'Covers' Bands.

We made a decision limit the covers we did by only doing songs by British bands and that they had to have been in the top 40. So the 10 we most often put in our set and the ones that get the best reaction from the crowd are...
London Calling
Pump it up
Take me Out
Start
My Girl (Madness)
I Predict a Riot
Unbearable (The Wonder Stuff)
Start me up
Save a Prayer
and a rocked out version of Kids in America that goes down a storm
... And they are fun to play as well
