1. Sold my Carvin 5 string bass to Conan. Smooth communication and a really good guy, definitely recommend trading with him! Thanks, Shane
2. I would hold it for you mate but running out of time to sell unfortunately!
3. I'm going to be price dropping this once more to 400 tomorrow morning, get in before that if you want it! By the way, this price is a STEAL for that bass.
4. PRICE DROP - £450.00 Found another photo of the bass, at a video shoot we did recently:
5. Still bumping, need this gone within a week! Thanks, Shane
6.
Pretty sure this was my old bass (see http://www.carvinmus...llery/xb75.html - about half way down the page). Bought in the states and imported by me when I moved back. If so it also has the offset neck profile. I can vouch for it's lovely-ness. It also does quite well tuned F#-B-E-A-D (when it left me it had another nut). The last I saw of it I traded for a fretless on here.
Small world! Thanks for the vouching! I believe you are correct as I do still have the original spare set of strings with that monster F#....when I bought it however there was already a new (standard) nut on it with standard strings.
this is killikng me missed this first time round only one more gig and ill have the dough !!!!
Let me know mate asap, I have an offer just waiting for the reply from the guy however!
7. Bump from Norway! Back in London on the 13th. Send some offers if you are interested otherwise it's eBay time!
8. Hi Conan, I feel the same, it's quite hard to find a lot of information on this series, however there is a page with plenty of nice examples and standard specs here: http://www.carvinmuseum.com/instockarchive/xb75.html Tone wise I you're pretty spot on there, however having the Musicman style pickup near the bridge (as opposed to the 'sweet spot' on the stingrays) means it's more like a jazz bass on steroids, very punchy and clear. You can get thunky p-bass like tone by favoring the neck pickup, modern hip hop like tone by using an even split (That's what I used for my funk band), or Jaco-like tone by using the bridge pickup. I just discovered from reading up that if you pull the volume knob you have a passive bass! Never knew that....useful for recording I suppose. They also have piezo bridge saddles (I suppose that's what the P stands for on the XB75-P). My understanding of the controls is: Master Volume Pickup selector/mix knob Switch for piezo on/off and corresponding knob for frequency range/mix (This is my best explanation of what this does - kind of sounds like a sweepable mid but I'm really not sure) Bass, Mid, Treble along the bottom row. 18v Active Circuitry (Pull volume knob for passive) I would consider posting it as it has a hard case and there is a lot of advice about posting it on this forum. Anything else let me know! Shane
9. Thanks all for the interest, sold to a very nice chap this morning. My Carvin XB 75P is still for sale however! http://basschat.co.u...-5-string-bass/
10. EBS are the bomb, used this cab for 2 winter seasons in the French alps, along with the Fafner head. Never an issue, beautiful sound. Loved the sound.....and hey, it's good enough for Marcus Miller!
