Total newbie to this board. First Post. I'm currently modding/restoring two 73 Rippers w/ varitone, mid-chokes, etc. Torres Engineering Varitone Kit w/ Treble Bleed Bypass and Mid-Choke on one and Vintage Gibson NOS close to specs on the other. adding bypass and neck pup only options to V selector. debating push/pull vs. 6 way. Will keep you posted along the way. Might take 2 or 3 wknds. Thx for the info to get going. One of these RIppers is a first-run 73 that I bought from Michael Guthrie in 1992 and loaned to the Drive-By Truckers for 15yrs. Just got it back. All cleaned-up and ready for fresh electronics. Pups both read great on the multimeter. One of them is an early Bartolini "Hi-A" passive ....ahhhhh! -J. Spencer
