Have had it all my life, so I'm used to it. Normally, it's a high pitched whine ( similar to when you switch on a CRT TV ) but sometimes it will drown out most sound for 5-10 seconds. I don't notice it 99.9% of the time though as it's been a lifelong thing.

Well spotted!! Also, mine just says 'Tanglewood' on the headstock in white/grey writing.

Must have a look for SN when I give it a clean and stick new strings on it. Any idea where the SN is on these? Be nice to get some info from Tanglewood

Psychedelic paintjob is being finished, just need to make sure clear coat is good before reassembly and set up. In the meantime, here's two of mine.

( I know the PUP on the Tanglewood Funkmaster is down on one side............ It needs to be set up aswell and cleaned as it's filthy )

I'll get some proper pics up when I get home. It looks different to all the rest and needs a bit of TLC ( Wiring is a bit of a spaghetti junction, and fingerboard needs a good clean and new strings)

Great bass for fingering (snigger) and the neck is a good bit fatter than the rest of mine, but I have found if I'm popping on the G-String I tend to catch the neck extension. Does't bother me in the slightest though as it's a racking bass. I got mine for 120e about 5 years ago

Ahh cool. I have never owned a bass with a maple body though. My current line up is: Mahogany, Poplar(sp), Alder...

Also have one of these beauties, although mine says 'Tanglewood' on the headstock. I'll get some proper pictures up later on of it....... Active pickups, and needs a new set of strings but it's a bass I'll never get rid of.

I'm very tempted to get one after pay day..... I don't own any bass with a JB config, I have 3 with the MM config, and one with dual soapbars, a JB would be nice too, and seeing as I'd be saving for a year for a Fender, I'd be willing to take a gamble, plus, they do returns

I posted maple for body, it's actually ash.

They are the same as an SX SJB 75 B. Just rebranded..... Seriously tempted for 120 yo-yo's.

Have seen good enough reviews of their other basses in fairness....... I like this one more.

The scratchplate isn't going back on BigRedX...... It's more of an eye candy piece than the regular player. Might run an LED strip on it too.

Well, I took a Vintage EST 96, and decided i was going to do something with it, I had planned on doing a simple paint job, ( white, with a simple nod to Calvin and Hobbes in black, but I decided to hand it over, and got someone to go mad on it for me. I have to say, when I said 'Go mad' I never dreamed she would go this mad!

Phrases that got thrown around theme wise were, Tim Burton-esque, Mark Ryden, and 'Acid Trip'. Here is the result so far.

Different to say the least.

Setting it up when it's done will be good as the action was always really high on this bass

I only have 4 (so far) two are in working order, but if the 4 were working, I'd play them all. They all sound different, they all play different.

In time I don't doubt that my collection will grow, and I will play them all for different things.

As I said many times, I have no high end basses, just basses I like, and that are fun to play ( The hated Fleabass is one of the fun to play ones, and I really like it )

I have NO intention in stopping at 4, and I also have no intention of spending 1000's on one bass ( personal preferences, well, unless i win the EuroMillions )

Use whatever makes you happy. Whether you have 1, or 100 basses, once you're happy[b] fu*k the [i] begrudgers!! [/i][/b]

My Kramer D-1 is my jack of all trades bass. Great tone, sustain and a lovey neck. Active EMG hardware, and solid build quality!

Would love me a P-Bass, but as most people can relate to, the money just isn't there!

It all depends on quality of wood and pups I would think. With both at the lower end of the scale, I'd guess you wouldn't have the crispness of a more expensive bass.

My thinking exactly. I'm tempted, might have a mellow tone Tempted, and if it's a pig, I can always keep it as eye candy

(As I have said, I do like cheap quirky basses as my collection shows haha )

Does this appeal to anybody else? I think it looks great anyway. Maple body, neck and fretboard for 129 euro's?

Guitar warehouse stocks them, would be a serious try before you buy, but as eye candy, I'm drawn to it bigtime!
