1. Tinkered with guitar on and off for years and never really mastered it. Any tips on the best way forward, had some lessons but all the tutor was doing was learning me a new song every week but nothing else. Any good books or sites out there to have a gander at? Cheers.

Hi,

Massively different, much more tonality, especially on the P pick up, but better again with the PJ together, the J on it's own is a touch weak, but the good thing about it is you can swap out the pick ups if need be as they're regular size. The finish on it is far superior to the Squier, I had a mexican bass before and hated it as it was so badly finished, but this is supreme, the neck nearly as smooth as an american one imho. I think the Squier pickups are quite loud, this one is a bit quieter, but without loss of presence. But that's the difference between a £700 bass (original price) and a £200 Squier, much better build and better components. I initially was gonna use both mustangs, one tuned down, one standard, but I'm going back to 32-34 scale basses now. There's a few good video demos, the official fender one is good and probably the closest to what i think it sounds like.
Take a punt, it'd pair up well with the Squier!!

Cheers

3.
Yup. Still here. Ive had a few enquiries but nothing serious yet. Please let me know if you need any more info or photos. Any trials welcome. It isnt prefect but plays nicely and is a lot of bass foe the money. ive been noodling on it a lot at home and am tempted to keep it but need to clear some space.
Cheers, Can you ping me the price including post/courier to Leicester. Thanks.

4. Bought a VERY cheap distortion pedal (belcat dst5o1) as my new band has a couple of tracks where I need one. Problem is I can't seem to get the required level of distortion with volume without it feeding back ridiculously. Never used one before so no sure if I should crank up the level or distortion itself?? Or is it just that it's a very cheap pedal that is cack!? Any suggestion on settings or other pedals would be great. Cheers.

6. Selling this as I'm taking a bass break as I would keep it otherwise. Not lpoking for trades and the price is firm as I will hang on to it if I can't get 250 for it. Looks and sounds, hardly any marks to note other than the usual light scuffs on the plate. Ashtray bridge cover added bit otherwise all originally. These are £398 new so a good quality bass and a lot better than several fenders I've owned.
As part of their 2014 roster, Squier have reintroduced the uncompromising style of the 1970's model with the Classic Vibe Precision Bass 70s in a sumptuous black finish. Packing power and precision into such a sleek body is not easy to do, but Squier have done so with effortless grace.

EXQUISITE P-BASS DESIGN

The Classic Vibe Precision bass 70s has been crafted to the instantly recognisable P-bass body shape, with deep cutaways for greater upper fret access. The shapely lines and ergonomically designed body makes this bass incredibly comfortable to play, whether you prefer to wear is slung low or held high.

Basswood has been used in the construction of the body. It may be a relatively lightweight tonewood, but its characteristically dense material properties mean it has a roaring mid to low-end engine at its core. As a result, the power to weight ratio is highly favourable, giving this model an energetic response whilst remaining easy on the back, and highly enjoyable to wield onstage.

FAST MAPLE NECK

The slender maple neck has been shaped to the modern "C"-profile, making it very comfortable in the hand. Married to the neck is a maple fingerboard, home to 20 vintage-style frets that are a dream to navigate. The maple/maple combination guarantees a fast-acting attack, which ensures a great deal of articulation across the entire length of the fingerboard.

SIMPLE YET VERSATILE ELECTRONICS

In keeping with the simplistic 70s design, the Classic Vibe is fitted with a Fender-designed single split-coil Precision Bass pickup in the middle position. The electronics setup and control layout may be simple in deign, with only single master volume and tone knobs to shape and lift your signal. However, the Fender-designed pickup has more than enough muscle to satisfy the most ferocious of tastes. The versatility and range of tonal options at your disposal is remarkable for such an uncluttered setup. Whatever style of music you play, this bass can quite easily produce tones that will blow you away.

RESILIENT HARDWARE

A 'HiMass' bridge with four brass barrel saddles creates a seamless connect between each string and the body, making it easier to maintain intonate and upholding sustain with ease. Vintage-style tuning machines control tuning integrity, so no matter how aggressively your performance gets, the Classic Vibe 70s will match you every step of the way.

The Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass 70s is a superb bass guitar that is a dream to play, and produces a fat, tight tone. Whether you're taking to the studio or the stage, this beauty will happily accompany you in style.
Based in Leicester but if I can find a box I could post for the cost of a courier.thanks.
