7. Hi there selling up my lovely fiesta red road worn.I think a 2009 model.Only ever used as a backup at gigs and as I'm not gigging now it has to go.It has all the usual road worn bits and looks and that nice jazz tone we all know and love. Its louder than my 1962 vintage re-issue both plugged in and unplugged. Not exactly sure of the weight, but what I do know it is a canny bit lighter than my 1962! At the minute it is strung up with Thomastik jf334 flats(cost a bomb) but could do with a light set-up.The usual black Fender padded bag comes with it and I'm sure I have a Fender bass carton I can pack it in for postage. I'll try to pinup a few pics but my photo skills = zero! So there you go this is a lovely bass and if like me you dont like sunbursts then this is the colour for you! these new are now selling for over a grand! So price is £550 + postage kind regards steve p.s any questions at all [email protected]
I'm not sure what he uses these days, but I always loved the sound he got from his old Wallace amp in the 70's At one point he used Trace Elliot and also had a Roland cube.None as good as the Wallace...
 12. Never heard anybody have a bad word to say about Herbie a lovely down to earth bloke with no ego!" whatsoever and always ready to let anyone have a go on his old stacker-jazz(as if it was just a cheap squier!). Long may he carry on.
I can't believe no-one has brought this to the thread:
Im sure I read somewhere that it was none other than James Jamerson himself on the original Starsky and hutch theme...

 18.
Normally, I've found Thomastiks need to have the truss rod loosened a bit (not much at all, maybe a quarter turn?) and then I also move the bridge saddles up (again only a touch, maybe one turn) to compensate for the floppiness. After that they still need a gentle touch, but are very nice when you get used to the feel. Lovely sound.
Yep totally agree they have a lovely feel and tone I also have a set on my other jazz, a stack knob rI62 and the setup with this bass is spot on
 19. ok folks thanks for the help I'l give the idea of marts and try it anticlockwise cheers steve
 20. yep the rod screw is right in fully clockwise and it has an up bow ie the neck is bowed away from the strings
 21. Hi folks, looking for a wee bit help with thomastik strings.I have a set on my backup bass a fender road worn jazz and cant seem to get a nice action with the jf344's the saddles are almost at the bottom and the truss-rod is full at clockwise. When you sight down neck I can see an up-bow,so i was wondering if a higher tension string would cure the problem and pull the neck up? Would be happy to hear some opinions. cheers steve
