Agreed, £13.95 is a far better price. I use them - replacing the bbot - because I like the fact that the grub screws sit in tracks - that is inherently more stable when I am 'digging in'.

I have always favoured the 203 but that's because I have an aversion to accessories with names on (Seymour Duncan Basslines etc). No logic to it I accept but that's what makes me so loveable. ;-)

The Ampeg PF series are excellent cabs. I used the 1x15 and found the sound to be remarkably good. They do a matching 2x10 too. I believe there are examples in the marketplace as we speak.

An old drummer mate lives there. I'll ask if he knows of anywhere.

I also echo the envy. Back in my full-time touring days we used to start and end tours in Amsterdam because the drummer and FOH sound man lived there. It's a wonderful place and the Dutch are terrific people, you will enjoy your time there immensely. It's just a shame so many people can't think beyond the red lights and coffee houses.

JT has sound advice. There's no point upsetting the wife. That can lead to awful problems.

Not sure about a regret. I faced a choice, just after college, of being a full time musician playing functions/holiday camps/cruises or playing the music I wanted to and getting a real job.I chose the latter and never regretted it. Luckily I was a full time player for a few years so it didn't matter in the end.

I have also had the great fortune to play and tour with some of the greats and none of them ever asked me what I did before or after a tour. Do what you enjoy most. If that's both then that's great. Just a bit of juggling and first come first served.

In both cases pretty much the stock sound of the instrument but perfectly recorded and using the sound in the best way. IMO of course.

Lovely bass but the 50h anniversary and the Custom Shop Jazz basses are gorgeous, even to a guy who doesn't like Jazz basses.

My old 'big rig' - a Boogie Bass 400 into a diesel 2x15 and a Bass 400+ into a Road Ready 2x18. That lot shifted some air!!

Just using the small rig now - the 2x18 has gone, but the 400 and 2x15 is a wonderful noise to my (snare drum-battered) ears.

Oddly (it seems) my PF350 failed after one rehearsal and PF500 I changed it for worked perfectly happily. I only sold it to buy the Walkabout I had always really wanted.

I haven't read of any issue recently which leads me to conclude that reliability is less of a problem these days.

I have Spotify Premum as a freebie with my mobile and also buy cd's from Amazon which usually means a free downloaded version too which says in the cloud too.

I actually manage VAT for the UK's largest mobile phone company - operating in most countries in the world.

Yours is a fairly typical rsponse from someone who's happy to take all the profits of a business but not prepared to do the necessary (and legal) graft also required. It's not difficult after a couple of times and could be to your advantage in some circumstances.

Please don't spout your nonsense in the pub, you create all sorts of difficulties for the people you influence with your 'insight'.

If the cover of L&D is to be believed that great tone is flats through a mic'd B15 - the amp on top of his Acoustic rig and the cab underneath a Marshall 4x12. Presumably a DI as well.
