I had a Spectorcore Fretless, a great bass, very versatile.
It will be interesting to try the fretted version. Based on my past experience with an Esh, with a similar system it should cope with everything I throw at it but we'll see.
I just love experimenting.

1. Keep the ones that you can't imagine yourself being without, or which you love the sound of. (In my own personal case, I keep the ones that earn me money. Everything beyond my core 6-7 is up for grabs.)
Thanks, sound advice (excuse the pun) and its good to know I'm not alone. No more peeking at other basses for me for a while, well maybe a quick peek before I sleep!😂
Note: I'll know how the Spectorcore works by next weekend, maybe I try try a comparison

Years ago I bought a crafter acoustic bass learned the hard way that "acoustic basses can be feedback monsters", so gave them a wide birth for years. That was until 2019, when I got my beloved semi-hollow Peerless Cassidy bass. Then a couple of months back I scored a smart, Gretsch short scale, which I noodle with and play at work when I'm learning stuff. All well and good but things have now got out of control.
My aim was to sell but Instead of selling I traded my jazz for a Lakland hollow Body bass. I bought a Dearmond Starfire bass locally about 2 weeks ago, which is currently getting its electrics sorted, and now I bought a Spectocore fretted 5 as my spare for gigging. My head hurts!
I consider myself lucky but maybe I'm just going nuts!
1. I can't keep em all, which do I keep?
2. Where an I going to store them even??
3. Will the Spectorcore be good for rock and metal 😂?
4. Am I insane?? No need to answer the last one!

I had the Rockbag to fit the Warwick StarBass which I expect would fit most other semi-acoustic basses.
Wasn't particularly impressed with the quality and it had to be binned after a 18 months of use twice a week due to zip and bottom of the case wearing out. Also I has never impressed with the strap system. Like a lot of gig bags it would have fine if all I wanted was something that offered a bit of protection for the bass while in a car and from carrying from the car into the venue. For actually using the carry a bass on my back for any distance, very poor.
I'm sure they are fine for storage and occasional use but in light of your comment I'm glad I looked elsewhere

Got a used Blake Bravo on the way thanks!

I have a Fender FB610 which fits mine JC fine . The FB1225 or FB620 are both a step up in quality and price but still reasonable enough .
Thanks, they look just the job but the specs say Fender FB610 Electric Bass Gig Bag, Black | PMT Online, which is why I discounted them. I do need the 40cm. Do they distort to fit?

Thanks for the replies, I saw the blake but it said no postage. I have messaged just in case and I need something that is 40cm wide.
I may end up with a rockbag, but as carrying it on my back is the main purpose it doesn't sound ideal

Just adding that I can't see much else. A Mono Virtigo maybe but they are expensive bits of kit for occasional use
Nothing else?

Hi, can someone help be by letting me know the internal length of the above please?
Update: now not needed thanks

Was mine, I was tempted to buy it back. It does the biz

Hi all, I'm lucky enough to own a JC and Lakland hollowbody basses, and would really like to get myself a decent gig bag to avoid lugging around. There are some posts on here but they are old and out of date? Anyone got any recommendations or selling. Both are pretty thin in terms of depth and the max body width is 41cm.
I did find this on Thoman but would prefer to find something with more internal support
Rockbag Starline Hollowbody E-Bass Bag – Thomann UK
Any help would be much appreciated

I was going to say Stingray lol
The Anaconda basses have great pups, not sure if that qualifies as sissle though.

Last push! Otherwise keeping it!

Hi just updated the specs and weight above. Lots of great reviews out there (couldn't find a bad one). Here is an overview of a similar bass of a similar age:
-
Its a nice weight, not heavy and well balanced. ill try and weigh it tonight. I have a bunch of questions to answer. I'll also try and find a relevent YT video
. Apologies I failed with info on the original listing.

As my Spector hasn't sold yet so I'm putting up my Anaconda, which I bought used for a project earlier this year, which is now complete.
Trades?
A quality semi hollow e.g Chowny, Gretsch, Peerless *not a Cassidy" as I have one.
5's with a narrower spacing than this, 16-18 string spacing and passive option
A bass 6/Vi, *not squier
It is a stunning bass in fine condition. Also one of the most diverse and best sounding electrical systems I've some across. It sounds amazing both active and passive.
From the serial number it looks a 2021 instrument.
There is some light scratching on the back and pickguard from normal use and a small ding on the back. Otherwise it's like new.
The neck is fabulous with wide string spacing. I'll put a set of rounds on it for the lucky new owner!
I can post at cost but collection and trial welcome!

I recommend the Tech 21, Dug Pinnock pedal. I great pedal and it has a a great rattly guitar amp sound, when you dial up the drive and "Chunk" dials! Strong bass is always present.

I've owned and like them both. You're only way to find this out will be to try both imo....there's a few different algos between the two, but both really solid choices. ✌️
Thanks, that's good to know.
