1. 4 x Mackie Thump TH-15a Active PA Cabs for sale.

Each cab is rated at 400w and they are pretty damn loud, delivering a max SPL of 121dB. They have excellent bass response too, really living up to that "thump" name.

I've used these with my band for a couple of years but we are moving into venues where we need to use subs and tops so these are no longer required. For pub/club venues up to about 150 people, we used one each side for vocals plus some backline reinforcement. For bigger venues, we used all four, two each side, stacked on top of each other and they deliver incredibly well.

Playing pre-recorded music through them in between sets leads me to believe these would be outstanding for a DJ to use too.

Cosmetically, all are in fantastic used condition with a few scuff marks here and there, but no chunks missing or cracks and they are all working great, delivering loads of power.

I did think there was an issue with one of the cabs and mentioned it in the original listing but it was the mixer causing the noise, not the cab. I tested it with numerous sound sources and leads and works great.

  2. BOSS AW-3 Dynamic Wah

Selling this as have finally got my hands on an Aguilar Filter twin, though the BOSS is a fun and very usable pedal for bass as it doesn't entirely suck away the bottom end of the signal like many wahs do.

Has wah up or down plus humaniser effect which you use by setting the start and end vowels to get, for example: A to U or I to O, as in "AYOOO" or "IYOWE"

SOLD [s]Korg Pitchblack Tuner in Ltd. Edition Red (ON HOLD)[/s]

    [s]

Decent compact tuner. Only selling as the power input is offset slightly and it means I can't squeeze all my pedals onto my board neatly and I happen to have a TU-2 as well which gets around the problem. Like the Korg better.

Did a very rare thing for me a few weeks back when I bought a brand new bass.

It's a Lakland Darryl Jones 5 in the Ltd. Edition natural finish with maple neck and black blocks.

Interestingly, the label on the box calls it an AC-5, which I suppose confirms that it is essentially a DJ5 spec'd along the same lines as one of Adam Clayton's original DJ4s - natural, maple board, black blocks, no binding.

    Yum.

After a couple of gigs and some rehearsals with it I'm ready to call it the best Lakland I've owned (and I've had a few). It's fairly light, (about 9.5lbs), is set-up deliciously and has both low end grunt and a nice crunchy top end. I am particularly enchanted by the very light, satin finish on the neck which is quite different to the DJ 4/5 I've played previously.

In the past I've hesitated a bit about Indonesian made Laklands - are they as good as the Korean made ones? Absolutely yes, they are.

was looking through your list of possible P/X ... and you've got a BB1024x in there...

I've not got one of them but next post down on the forum is someone selling a BB1204x.... ah I wonder if they would be interested in that lovely gold clover? I asked myself... nope cos that's you too! I'm not sure it is a basschat first but are you selling a bass and asking for the same bass in trade all at the same time? :)
If someone wants the Clover and has a 1024x and a chunk of cash, I'd do the deal and (hopefully) sell the 1024x.

  5. I really love these basses and if I could afford to keep it I would but a recent spate of purchases means this is for sale. I don't think you can really get much more bang for your buck when it comes to 4 string and passive. The pick-ups are LOUD and have loads of tone.

I think there's some witchcraft going on because there's no way you should be able to get as much variety as these basses offer given the simple control options: 3-way toggle switch plus volume and tone. If you want classic p-bass thump, it's there in spades and this bass also produces the closest I've got to Geddy Lee's YYZ tone, it really bites and spits when you play with the bridge pick-up.

The neck has a very smoothly finish and is somewhere between a J and a P neck in dimensions. All the hardware works as it should and the bass is a more than comfortable weight (I'd guess about 9 to 9.5 lbs). The fit and finish is exceptional. Every bit as good as you could wish for and the bass is well set-up. There is one minor ding on the headstock but aside from that she's pretty much perfect. Any marks in the pictures are just fingerprints or reflections.

Looking for £475 delivered in UK with a (very nice and well padded) Yamaha gigbag or £495 with a hard case.

Not really looking for trades on this as cash is king, but maybe a MarkBass NY121 cab plus cash or some active PA bass bins. That being said, never say never.
