I played for a fair few hours yesterday and glad to say its awsome!! Very compact light weight mini rig that packs a good punch!! I love hartke gear I nearly bought a markbass combo +cab instead but glad I stuck with trusty hartke

Hi folks I have just bought a hartke lh500 head and two hydrive 112 cabs. I'm unsure of how to connect them all up properly as i've always used either 1 big cab or combo's Info - LH 500 - 500 watts and has two jack outputs at 8 ohm each (according to the back panel) The two cabs are switchable between 8 and 4 ohms. i believe that i should be plugging the 8 ohm in one cab then take second output of cab in to the other cab (one output of amp and the join the two cabs together) is this right or should i put 1 output to one cab and other output to other cab??? 8 ohms amp in to two 8 ohm cabs (which i think makes them 4ohms each???) ok or not lol!!! Thanks in advance and apologies for my stupidty lol!! Danny

as many have said on hear!! i imported a fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass (I think MIJ), It wass around £1000 and dont get me wrong it is nice to play, but..... I was in a covers band and we had 2 different tunings so for ease and just incase something bad happened i bought myself a 'reasonably priced' second bass. I have also used a MIA prescision and a MIM Jaguar bass, the MIJ Geddy lee is the nicest to play. I bought a Yamaha BB425 5 string. (http://www.wembleyguitarcentre.com/Catalogue/Guitar-Centre/Bass-Guitars/Yamaha/Yamaha-BB425-5-String-Bass-Guitar-Black-BB425BL) My first bass was a Yamaha RBX270 also. Since owning the yamaha 5 string, the fender hasn't left my flat! i perfer the tone, weight, balance, everything! apart from looks the fender wins there!! My Honest Opinion is to go for a yamaha! there well built, and alot of bass for the money.

Hi I am in the process of ordering the new hartke kilo.... Yum!!! However i have seen that their are 2 different versions version A) - http://www.samsontech.com/site_media/legacy_docs/Hartke-Kilo.jpg - I am told that this is the 'old' model and that hartke have intoduced a new version Version - http://www.imusician.co.uk/acatalog/00064403.jpg I am told that this is the new version?? I am not sure who to believe. I have been told this by the Main Stockist of Hartke in the uk but cannot find any info of different versions and on the actual hartke website it still displays the 'old' version ??? i thought on the hartke site they would be the first to update their site with a new model kilo?? Any help greatly apreciated, at a tad under 700 its something i wont to be sure of! Regards Danny

yes that was kind of the issue! use mostly the jazz but for that odd set that 2 or 3 dwn half step or requires the 5th string it multi change ! and then BOOOM!! knock people over with the bass!!! although i find this ....... satisfying thats not how the audience feel lol!! Hi all, Might not be a problem but...... I have a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, and running through same amp and same settings the Fender is much quieter than my 5 string Yamaha BB Reissue?? litrally unplug one, plug other in. Any Suggestions?? I had the bass recently 'set up' and the pickups, action, neck etc all sorted. But even after, the set up its still 2 different volumes. Many Thanks Danny

Great advice unfortunatly im not in the market for any more basses!! I was under the impression that the115 was to boost the bass and then the 410 sorts out the mid and treble. Mind you this may never materialise because i predominantly a drummer! Think i may be going for the LH1000 or the kilo. As this i think will be the most versatile set up. the 5500 although impresive dont think will get the best out of the cab. although i have been informed that my uni has the 5500 and LH1000 at my uni so may be able to try them if they will let a drummer fiddle with bass amps lol! This is very useful. Although I like the simplicity of the lh 1000, this is also what worries me. I have a kickback 12 ATM which has a 'shape' knob. I use this alot! Down low for things like led zep and ratm, etc but up high for stuff like rhcp and more tinier sounding songs. Obviously the lh1000 doesn't have this? But nor does the kilo?? Would something like a line 6 xt pro sort this out or would that begin to lose the authentic instead of electric sound??

How does the ohms and wattage pair with the cab. I don't really understand ohmage and amps etc. I think the 5500 is a 500w@4 ohms and I think the cab is 1000w @ 8 ohms. ?!?!?
