Srsly though why do people keep trying to steal my cable? Is there a decent system for labelling them? grrr.

  I use some red electrical tape around one end of some of my cables to differentiate them just incase. If its a big problem you could do a combination of colours to make it obvious to you and others. E.g. white tape over red (striped) at one end of the cable?
