1. Hi subaudio & alanbass1, cheers for the welcomes! Yes Keith, I saw Al the following Monday, he said he had a really nice gig with you guys. Good to meet you on here, hopefully I'll get the chance to hear you and your son play sometime.
2. Hi Keith, you weren't by any chance playing Pave on Sunday with a certain Mr Macsween? If so I have also heard of you, otherwise I am mistaken. Good to meet you! Cheers Mr Scouser Hi Mikey Hi Bass24
3. Thanks Leftyhook, yes I've been playing and collecting basses since '93...I forgot to put my basses on here! They are: 1976 Sunburst Precision (with modified jazz bass pick-up installed in the bridge). 1991 Sunburst Japanese Jazz bass with Fender Mod Shop Samarium Cobalt Pick-ups. Yamaha TRB 6 String (mid 90's), dark green. Aria Pro II fretless. Black. Pollman Busseto Double Bass, with Full Circle bridge pick-up. Amps: EA Doubler Head, 2 Mark Bass Traveller Cabs (making 4ohms resistance - running the head at the full 550W). Acoustic Image Contra II combo. Hartke Kickback 12 I'll put up some photo's soon.
4. Hi, I'm new to forum world, and thought I'd say hi in this section. I've played bass for a number of years, and I'm in Yorkshire. I'll put up some pictures when I get the chance, still getting my head around the topics/gear/chat sections. Great site here! Cheers, Emlyn
5. Here's a picture of my US '76 modified Precision (with bridge pick-up) next to my fretless Japanese '92 Jazz. Both sound great, Fender Mod Shop Stacked pick ups in the Jazz.
6. This is a great bass for jazz/orchestral playing. I've owned it for 7 years now, bought from Tim Batchelor in Leicester, and had several jobs done on it. The bass bar has been replaced which has given it more bottom end. It has an adjustable bridge with a FULL CIRCLE pick up, & had the fingerboard shot, all by Samuel Wells at Roger Dawson's workshop. It has the original Pine Top, Scroll (quite worn) and Sycamore Back & Sides. The appearance is quite mottled, with many dents and it shows it's years, but sounds great and could be restored aesthetically. Thick brass machine heads, very sturdy. One is slightly loose due to a repaired peg, a bit of blue tack stops the rattle when playing. A new one is easy to buy, I haven't because it's been my regular gigging bass and I've got by with the blue tack! It has quite a wide ebony finger board, with D'Addario Helicore Hybrid Strings fitted. It's been valued at £3500. I'm asking this price all inclusive, including the pick up (worth another £200). If your interested I'm in Leeds, West Yorkshire. To arrange to come and try it out call on 07941921707. I'm now reducing my asking price to offers around 3K.
