Do the zoom pedals allow a phone or similar to be plugged in to practice over tracks? 

Tempted to give one of these zoom pedals a try too now. Not had chance to try the yamaha box yet as my numark headphones have the large aux cable so need to wait for an adapter

Gonna give the Yamaha a go. Now I'm wishing I'd gone with the zoom. Is the pedal not huge? Does it take batteries? 

There's one of the red ones on ebay for £25 posted. 

Seems a no brainer at that price. 

Does anyone know if the blue version of the yamaha cake whatsit works the same as the red? Is it the same just with the added XLR?

Wow! Wish I could have nabbed one of those for a tenner. That looks spot on. 

Been looking at something to do some quiet practice with at home and seen a couple of Bass Headphone Amps. Mainly the VOX and Blackstar ones. The VOX one is about £30 and looks pretty good for what I need it for. 

Before I pull the trigger, has anyone got any experience with these? And are there any other options I'm over looking? Don't want to pay more than £50 really.

Is there anything I really need to say about this pedal? It's just a bit 'too much' for what I need at the moment. 

Some sticky residue on bottom but other than that it's perfect.
