It's near impossible to get any Dekos these days. They seem to update the website with them already sold out.

I haven't had a problem buying them, in fact I had two PJ shortys last week. Interestingly one wasn't stamped so I'm not 100% sure it was even a deco. It did say Deco on the box though.

    Wow! a 1930s Kramer!

  3. At the end of the day its to do with quantity. Probably the larges music retailer in the uk so they are going to fubar a fair few instruments on the way round.

But it is insane they price them with so little discount and so much damage! It just brings you back to Thomann's Harley benton Decos which seem to be in mint condition in comparison...

I asked Sire about a P bass a while back. They said they'd be doing one, but that's all they'd say. No time line, specs, etc.

Looks like we might be waiting a while then :-/

My friend Mark is selling a very similar Joodee in Exeter if you're interested

I know mark. In fact I sold him some pedals earlier this week!

I have a Stingray SUB USA I need to rehome but if I manage to sell it before its gone I'm planning on buying marks Joodee.

Easy bloke to deal with too!

  7. I have a very well worn USA SUB 4 string. It sounds so good, and the nice thing is its very easy to get a recognisable sound out of it.

My only gripe is I don't get on with active eqs and It just doesn't get the use it deserves.

The other problem is have you seen the original scratchplates for the SUB? Yuck!

  8. That sounds great to play, but I imagine finding strings for a 28" scale would be a nightmare. I guess it would be suitable as a travel bass, I'm wondering it might have a somewhat 'floppy e' like some short scales tend to go floppy when you d tune them.

It also sounds a bit like a tenor guitar..

    I was tempted by this:

    http://www.thomann.de/gb/eastwood_guitars_warren_ellis_tenor_1p_cherry.htm?ref=search_rslt_Tenor+guitar_360438_13

For having a noodle on. I'm not sure what a tenor guitar really means. I just know it has the right number of strings! :-D

  9. It's a lovely colour. Interesting that it's darker than the five string I had from the same series.

And here is the dodgy bridge:

It plays very well, I guess it doesn't matter too much as the scale length should be slightly longer on the e string anyway...

Does look like a VS600B to me. Bo'ness is just down the road from me. If I hadn't just had a Daion Performer P copy drop through the door, I'd ask her if she'd let me have the bass on its own for £50...

Might be worth a try anyway. I imagine it would be worth more than £100 with a clean up and chucked on ebay!
