1. Here are some of shots of my new-to-me Ritter Classic 7-string #723. In the live pics I'm playing with an EBow at The Spill Festîval last Saturday with band Temper Temper - although they're out of shot ;-) Rather than wait for pics from the official photographer, I got a band mate to take some snaps during soundcheck, hence the quality's not great...

So much is written about the way Ritters look - something to do with some being incredibly expensive and crazily flash/mad/'unusual' I guess - but the sound is often overlooked. I have to say though, when I first plugged mine in, holy cow on a cracker, the tone is fantastic. Massive low end punch and terrific mid range detail! I particularly like the humbucker/single-coil switches and mid controls, giving plenty of different, really useable sounds to explore when combined with the other controls. Seven strings are going to take some getting used to, but the neck is so well shaped and proportioned, it'll be a 'brain thing', not ergonomics. I know much is made of Ritters being 'works of art', but I intend to gig the hell out of mine...

My mate Grand Wazoo just couldn't resist coming round to check it out. Even as a die-hard Dingwall fan, he was blown away by the playability and craftsmanship and of course, the TONE(S!) He even overcame his '7-string fear'... He'd brought his new top-end camera - it has a gyroscope! - along and with the fisheye you can even see my rig on the other side of the room!

2. Re: weight, the website doesn't actually say the neo version is 30lbs, but as 34lbs is listed further down in the specs, I guess that's for the steel framed woofer version. Terrible page layout!
Will have a think about this...

Hiya,

Schroeder weighs about 30lb - says so at the top of the page in the brief description.

Never played a five string through it, but all these tiny cabs are a trade off - volume and weight for real low end, so I guess it's going to be no different to many other tiny cabs.

Cheers,

Jim

I have a Schroeder 15PL (the very smallest one) with neo speaker option.

Might that interest you? Complete with cover, in excellent condition.

Thanks, it might do....one thing though: unless I'm going mad, the website doesn't give the weight of the neo option...Any idea???

4. I have a 1st Gen. (black plastic corners) Barefaced Compact in vgc, with cover (made by me :) ) for trade or sale.

For trade I'm after:

A Barefaced Midget T. Gotta be a T.

or

A Euphonic Audio M-Line 1x12 Wizzy would also do the trick, but I know these are rare...

Or...any small, lightweight cab with a tweeter - reason being, I need something smaller than the Compact that goes higher than 4khz, 'cos I'm putting more than just my bass through the cab and will be lugging it on public transport a fair bit.

Edit: price drop: £315 (collected from Greenwich, or could meet in London).

NOW SOLD - thanks Dan!

It\s great and forms an integral part of my rig.
Ah-ha! Now why didn't I think of asking Max first? :) I've dealt with him before and his work is 1st class.

Will drop him a line...

6.
The way it's done in my line of work would be like this:
Mic/Guitar/Bass feeds plugged into a mic splitter unit.
1 set of the splits goes to FOH and another set will go to the Monitor mixer for your IEMs.

You could then connect the monitor mixer to a headphone amp.

Hope that helps in some way,

Regards,
Jon
Yes it does, thanks. Shame they're not available in one box!

Do you have any suggestions for brands/models?

7. I'm in an experimental/Gothic duo: guitar (miked amp), bass, 2 x vox and backing track (run from an iPod on stage) and we really need to go to in-ear monitoring due to generally bad monitors in most of the venues we play! We don't jump around (!) so wired IEMs will work fine.

We could just split the iPod output and send the track to the DI/FOH and a 2 channel headphone amp of some kind (on stage and in between us). Obviously we'd only have the backing track in the IEMs, so we'd still need to rely on house monitors for vox etc... Not ideal.

My question is: how can we get everything in our IEMs using a - fairly - simple setup?

(Would the bass feed and guitar mic signal have to go into a mixer before going to the FOH? Is there a mixer out there that can send the bass feed, guitar mic signal and backing track to the FOH and give us separate IEM mixes? Am I dreaming? :) )
