5. i put new axesrus (10k) pickups in,they do sound better and a new capacitor on the bb300 this is one of the last models which was made in taiwan and not japan, hasnt an alder body and i feel a cheaper quality neck,it defo is not a patch on a mighty mite neck i have had before, which a used on a jazz style body. i had another try this morning and it sounds better with the tone rolled off and the mids pushed on my amp but i still feel it is missing something
6. just started to upgrade an old taiwan made yamaha bb300 (my first project) put better p style pickups in ugraded to paper in oil tone capacitor it is better but still needs work as the sound is ok but not good enough the neck is cheapish and the body is sometime of composite wood I am thinking of putting a better quality neck(£50 ish- seco etc) on before i think of the body I need the sound to be fatter more of a 70s p bass sound any thoughts?

8. Thinking about getting one of these, did try a combo a year ago. It sounded good but the auto compressor kept kicking in which wasnt great. This head is higher powered-has anybody tried one of these amps? How is the Auto Compressor-is it a pain?
9. cant really afford more than £25 for the bridge so i think its going to be a gotoh from guitarbitz then-thanks for the advice. the heavy cheap bridges i have seen on ebay- i was wondering whether these were as good as gotoh, and also will the brass saddles make a difference
10. upgrading my homemade p/j bass, just been looking at some heavy duty replacement bridges around £20 would the cheaper gotoh bridge be better than these. the gotoh bridge has brass saddles will this make difference also is it better to have better quality machine heads for a more vibrant tone
11. New to the forum, but i have been playing for a long time previously i had an GK 400rb(200w) usa made head which was fairly loud with a 4 ohm 410 cab,i used to gig in a rock band but had to sell it last year due to money probs.
