1. Yeah it is, i think those boots are pretty cool!

What tunes does he use his dd6 on? i know it's the tr2 for 'black thumbnail', and i thought it was the dd6 for 'my party', but now not so sure????

Also, i got my mxr amp, but the gain switch is missing, anyone know where i can get a new one?????

    Gracias

  2. Anyone still looking for one of these very much sought after, rare bass'??

I ordered mine in January and it came through recently, and the shop I got it from, ordered another one which is still in stock!!!

Price is £1,089 - Brand new!!!

    Let me know folks

  3. Ah I see, thanks guys! Wonder what that oedal behind the MXR is, i know what all the rest are - russian muff, dd6, tr2. But the black box???

Also, i am getting a mxr this week, now i know it is fine to run through my ampeg as it's all valve, but through my little solid state combi, would that be ok with it?

  4. I saw a bass player using one, and he had it plugged in upside down, what would be the reason for this? I didn't think pedals worked if the leads were the wrong way round??????

  5. I'm looking for one, but can't find one anywhere, am i right in saying they are better than the electro harmonix ones???

Also, i understand that they are not 'true bypass' but you can have this changed, what would it do if i had it made into a 'true bypass'?

    thanks

  6. Thanks for all your help, last night I jammed with my firends band and myself and the drummer played Fans by Kings of Leon, and I kept in time quite well, even though it's only basically one note the whole way through!

I can't wait to jam with my band!! I get what you mean about the accents Funk, thanks for that

  7.
Ah, if you can play along while clapping your hands, then you clearly have ninja bass skills, and you should stop pretending you have a problem just to get our sympathy.

    :)
Pretending to have a problem, to get sympathy..... Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing.

I'm not just looking for advise or anything, I crave sympathy from people on forums, how did you work me out so fast?!

  8. Thanks for your help everyone, I'm picking up some really good pointers here!!

There's an online metronone that I think I will play along with for now, or clap my hands to as one website says.

So, Cantdosleepy, how would you count the beat to Charmer?

  9.
Can you tap your fingers or clap your hands in time along with a song? I know plenty of people who can't do this, and it's made me think that some people just can't discern a rhythm.

Not trying to be discouraging, just wondering.
I can clap or click, find it hard to tap my foot along with it though!

I've just started up a band and we start practice in a week, if I go in and just don't know how to keep rhythm, there's a stron possiblity I might be given the elbow!!

I'm not to good at making up my own bass lines either - should I just give up?!?!

  10. Thanks guys, I'm not quite sure what you mean there Wulf?

Yeah a metronome is what everyone seems to say, I think I will go home tonight and use the online one for a few hours.

The main types of music I play is stuff like Kings Of leon (I have the same bass), Joy Division and the Pixies. Should I be trying something more simpler??

Also - I've been told to learn time signatures which I have abssolutely NO clue about, it just baffles me!

  11. Hi,

I've been playing bass on and off for around a year now, and if I'm shown how to play something or shown a tab 9 times out of 10 i can do it no trouble.

But when I'm playing along with a song or something I can't keep the rythym and I just sound awful - I jammed with a friends band not so long ago and just embarrassed myself - Does anyone have any tips to help me keep that rhythm???

    Thanks
