Thats truly an oldschool bit of kit, lovely tho..Bet they're worth a pretty penny these days.

FJs are mint, they're just getting a little old now.. Wouldn't be without one tho!

I don't think they are, made anymore. You can still get the manual for them but that seems to be about it. It'd be nice to get some service data too as the bias is adjustable on the back with a multimeter.

I did read somewhere that they were marketed as a FAME BV300 elesewhere for a while. I also read that they a re-hashed Eden amp too but I can't find an eden anything like..

Honda CX500: Used to belong to my dad, I managed to find it 15 years after he sold it. He doesn't know I have it yet, Ha! Great bike in an old school steady kinda way. Very charming indeed!

GSX600F: My first bike. I thrashed the nuts off it and dropped it a couple of times. Very solid and reliable.

VFR800: A few friends have had these, a quick and capable bike with legendary honda reliabilty. V-Tec or none, both great bikes.

Shame yours have gone dude. I sold loads of bass stuff including a Status to get into bikes.

And my personal weapon of choice:

FJ1200: I like 'em so much, I have two!

I wouldn't swap my Streamer LX5 for a Spector or anything else for that matter..

It seems to be quite well made (well, from the outside at least), the transformers are reasonably large and quite heavy, it has Electroharmonix branded valves in, the wood work and upholstery are to a good standard, the finish on the brushed control panel is nicely done etc. My only minor criticism so far that the fan is a little noisy in operation.

I tried it in the shop and had to have it. A jazz bass sounds great through it, even better with my NE1 (I don't like 1k6-2k5 in my program) unit in front. My Warwick is always my reference and that plus the NE1 with both cabs is stunning.

I just hope its something like reliable. So far so good.

That bugs the hell out of me.. Tinny? What!? Use your words to decrible what you're hearing. Last time i looked, a tin makes no sound at all unless struck and even then.. Stupid term and none descriptive!

I love my Korg MS20, its a truly wonderful bit of kit. I've used it loads of times on recordings over the years and it delivers everytime. I love and don't think I'd ever sell it. I used to play it in a band when I was 17 with an old RockTech delay pedal and an Electric Mistress flanger. Massive and silly indeed!

My computer is borderline vintage too! It used to be an XP2000+ but it recently blew up so I upgraded it.. To an XP2500+! High speed stuff! It does have enough power for what I use it for tho.

With regards to the Ashton setup: I too could find next to nothing about it on the net either, there is a discussion about it on another forum but even that doesn't say too much. Truth is, I haven't had it that long and haven't gigged it yet but I'm still very pleased with it on all fronts. It has a very clean 'valve' type sound, its a bit more mid-biased than the V-Type Trace Elliot I was used to but that helps note definition. Its not as agressive as the Ampeg pre-amp but probably sits between the Ampeg and Trace sound.

I'll write a full review in another topic section when I've had it a little longer but for the time being, i'm very pleased with it. Especially when the full stack in the pic only cost £500! Bargain..

My long serving but currently ill PT2400. This amplifier has earned me lots of money and has provided many years of reliable and great sounding service. I'll be putting it right very soon thanks to Bob Carver himself.

This amp, Beavis was built by my step dad about 15 years ago. Its main components are Linear L50 items but its based on a 50w Marshall circuit. It has a diode rectifier in place of the GZ34 in the Linear circuit and the EL34 valves of the Marshall circuit were changed for Tung Sol 6550s for more clean, linear power. The Bias circuit was modded to accomodate the bigger valves. It now makes 62w just before clipping. This is a great amp, it works with everything.

This was purchased along with 3 other VS650s that were sold off when a club closed locally. I paid £100 for all three, although one did have to go for repair. I sold two on and kept this one and put super bright LEDs in it. I like Crest amplifiers and even this pro market buget model has great HiFi qualities.

I got this from a friend about 7-8 years ago who was retiring from bass playing. He'd bought it all new in the 1960s, built the cabs and the casing for the amplifier and kept it this neat and tidy for all these years. I have the original goodmans paperwork for the speakers and the Linear circuit diagram. This amp has apparently played the Albert Hall.

I love the look of these old 1x15" WEM cabs. The one on the left still has the original Goodmans Audiom P15D 50w driver in it. This is driven by the Crest amplifier as a sub. The one on the right has an HH driver and is driven full range by Beavis. The driver is quite efficient and sounds quite sweet.

My Long serving Warwick Streamer LX5. Its a very early 2001 model and has been everywhere with me. It was bought new when I was 18 and I'm still as happy with it today as I was back then. I've only recently finished the last of the body/bees wax that came with it from the factory.

The tall and imposing! I love this setup, It's the first amp I've used that will do the sound I want that doesn't say Trace Elliot on it. Its an Ashton BV300H (6 x KT88) 300w all valve head and the cabs are the matching Celestion loaded 4 x 10 and 1 x 15.. And the Les Paul in the second pic isn't a real one, its a Hondo II.

Hey guys, I've been pointed to this forum by a good friend who has been on here for a long time. I'm sure he'll make himself known when he sees this!

I'm Matt and work as a pro sound engineer at a local venue and as a part time motorcycle instructor. I used to be semi pro with the bass but I'm not even in a band these days -something I must remedy- but still play at home and dep for gigs as and when.

I started playing at 15 back in 1998 when still at school. No-one else at the time would volunteer and since I had a bass at home that belonged to my stepdad, I had thought, what can possibly go wrong?

My preferred style is very much of the acid/funk/groove line, I love it. Old stuff such as Stanley Clarke's 'School Days' and AWB's 'Cut the Cake' right through to modern stuff such my favourite band, Jamiroquai. If I had to compare myself to anyone, it would be Nick Fyffe.

I have played in many bands up and down the country, including a 10-peice soul/motown outfit, a 6-peice '70s Disco group, a seven-peice Cajun swamp n roll band etc etc.

With regards to equipment, I mainly play a 5-string Warwick Streamer LX that I had new many years ago. I still love that guitar. I also have a soft spot for Jazz basses too, I've had loads of them! When it comes to amps, I've been a life long Trace Elliot fan up until very recently and I've had virtually one of everything they've ever made! Although I no longer have any, I still love it. I now have and Ashton All valve rig.
