1. To far I'm afraid, I'm in Shropshire and tbh can't really justify another electric guitar. Living on a narrowboat there's only so much space I can allocate for guitars and I have the trio (accoustic, electric and a short scale bass). Shame as that yam is a bargain, nice necks on the Pacifica, a decent base for moding.

3. I'm very tempted on this but would need delivery (and permission from the mrs) Try advertising on TDPRI, it's an American tele forum, plenty of uk dudes on it.
4.
Yours is bigger than mine. You'd never pass through the Cader and Hebble locks down our way !!! Welcome fellow narrowboater and bass player.
Nothing an angle grinder won't solve ! You're right, it doesn't lend itself well up north. (not a bassist yet, hope to be soon, can strum around an accoustic a bit, just fancy peeing the match anglers off!).
5. I'm gobsmacked. Superb job. I'm also a bit gutted as I have pretty much the same plan in mind,(except that I had dismissed the idea of mustang pickups due to scarcity and US cost) even had the bridge cover in mind!
6.
Lived on the cut for a few years at Golden Nook. £6 per week moorings (1995) at the farm, I bet things are different now. Welcome.
Farm moorings for us, approx £700 pa, (+ British waterways license for 65ft boot + mooring permit = glad the boat is ours and not on finance!)
7. Think Jah Wobble uses one of these ovations. (that's an artist I'd almost forgotten about. Anyone know if he's still busy being odd?)
8. Anyone got their mitts on one of these yet. I'm still liking the idea of broncostangy mod I have in mind if I can get hold a decent platform to work on but I'm tempted to help the economy on one of these, besides, I'm a want it know sort of guy. (there's a very tasteful moded vm mustang going on in the American talkbass. Maple pickguard on black, very pretty). Anyway, have some time of work in a couple of weeks so I'll have the chance to have a nose at one in the flesh but if anyone has any knowledge/experience of these they would share it would be appreciated.

10. Thanks for the welcomes, was expecting the nautical shouts. Yep, it's a nice way to live but I can assure you all it can be hard work, especially with the last few hard winters we have had. None the less, is incredibly rewarding if you can do without a few luxuries.

12. hiya all, I'm Gilby and I'm a frustrated guitarist of limited ability, only recently got back into playing after a long break. Looking to move to the darkside and get onto four strings. I live on a narrowboat so no big amp rigs, currently play a bit on an acoustic apx500 or a Farida tele like through a vox batt amp. Suprisingly good sound but then again I'm living in a floating corridor so there's not a lot of space to fill. Tastes are varied, from Siouxsie and the banshees to Biffy Clyro, rush, floyd, zep, dreadzone, ozric tentacles, Kate bush. Yep, pretty varied. Anyway, glad to have found the site. Be posting in the wanted section in a bit. Need a bass now ! (short scale).
