  1. I have no idea what these are like but having seen 'Warwick', '5 string' and '£130' I thought someone may appreciate a 'Heads Up' for a possible budget entry 5.
I have nothing to do with the advert, I get updates from Preloved every day and this just popped up. Item is in High Peaks, Derbyshire.

  2. A few pictures:

    Thanks for looking.

  3. As stated above, this is a feeler at the moment. I will try to get some pictures posted when I get home from work.

Both are pre-truss rod models. Serial numbers and features date them to 1958. The committee is registered (to me) on the Hofner Hounds web site (so was the Senator but the list has been altered for some reason).

Both guitars are structurally sound but they require work to finish them off.

The Senator is the 3" depth acoustic version. It has a non standard tail piece (but still contemporary) and bridge. The bridge requires fitting properly. Tuning machines are original. Neck has been re-set as the glue gave up after 35 years. Overall condition is good but not mint.

The Committee is a 2 pick-up model with the large Frondose head and extensive MOP inlays. The body sides and back are Birds Eye Maple and are very pleasing on the eye. There is a lacquer crack on the heel of the neck but no damage to the neck itself. It has 1 tuner missing ( a stop-gap non-standard tuner was fitted but it needs changing) the other 5 are original, the tail piece, pickups (I believe they are Wilkinson and require fitting properly) and bridge are all non-original. The control/switch panel is a brand new copy.

Ideally, I would like to swap/trade these for a decent bass rig. Looking for 300W (or more) head, 1x15 and 4x10 cabs. Sorry, no Behringer type gear, thinking more along the lines of Ashdown/Hartke type stuff.

If I had to sell these I would be looking for £700 for the pair (£275 Senator and £425 Committee). I am definitely flexible and would consider PX/Swap/Cash combination for the right rig.

    Anybody interested?

    Thanks for looking. Pictures later.

  4. I bought a VM Jazz from Andertons using the 0% finance option. Absolutely no problems setting up the agreement on line (worryingly easy, no wonder folks get into financial difficulty). You have to spend over £300 pounds to use it and place a minimum 10% of the total cost as a deposit. You have the option of increasing the deposit to reduce the monthly payments.

  5. I have had a quick look (work beckons) but cannot see this posted anywhere on the forum so apologies if it's a repeat.

It is clearly listed as a Fender.

and can anyone tell me what MPN stands for in the item description box? If it stands for 'Manufacturers Part Number', then this precision has a serial number with a 'T; prefix which I understand is a 'Tribute' model.
I am assuming that if it isn't the real thing then they probably don't know as they have invited prospective bidders to go and have a look at it.

  7. I bought a scratch guard off Richard. From payment to it being delivered took 2 days. Excellent! Top chap to deal with so buy or sell with confidence.
    Thanks Richard.

    All the best,

    Mark.

  8. Feedback from Jahfish:

'No probs and glad you are enjoying the bass :) '.

I have also bought three other basses from BC members (OLP MM an Ibanez JetKing and a Squier Precision) but for some reason I have received no feedback from them. All sales were polite and hassle free and the asking price was paid.

  9. Took a trip to Leicester to have a look at Waynes SGC. First time I have seen one of these basses and I must say I was impressed with it. Very nice person to do business with and a pleasure to meet with yet another decent BC'r.
    Thanks Wayne.
