1. 70quid o.n.o. now - needs to go! Any questions give me a buzz Jim
2. Hi all - bought this a while ago, and used every so often but not enough to keep it - so with regret it's got to go. John who I bought it from described it well so I'll use his words: "I've been using this beast for bass for a few years with a big power amp and line 6 front end. The original Black Widows were dead when I got it, hence the Eminence drivers(which I bought new) The port is modified to suit after time in front of winISD. With a proper crossover and mid driver as well as tweeter, this is a lovely cab for clear, bright treble sound if required... And bear in mind the 12"s are Delta 12 LFs (extended low frequency rather than the regular deltas) And it'll take 1000W (4 ohm) and can be bi-amped if you wanted to run the HF from a different amp to the 12"s. I make no pretense about this being the prettiest cab... the carpet's missing from underneath,(the rest of the carpet is "warn" looking, but not torn... the only damage to it is visible at the top edge above the grill) the grill itself is decidedly DIY... and it's a Peavey, so FAR from lightweight! ..... but when you start to play, you can forgive it all of that! Dimensions: 34.5" H / 23" W / 19" D Perfect gigging cab (if you've got a van/flat loading car - it was hard work loading into my old mk2 scirocco!) or practice room cab, jam night cab...(no drunken random will break it!)" ( http://basschat.co.uk/topic/163802-soldpeavey-hisys-3-with-eminence-delta-12lfssold/ ) Condition is as when I bought it. You're more than welcome to come for a test play (in Sheffield), but I've recently sold my head - so you'll have to bring something you can plug in. Will take 80 o.n.o. - needs to be gone as we're moving house! Any questions give me a shout Cheers Jim
3. Apologies if already posted... Good little interview thing from the Quietus http://thequietus.com/articles/09210-rush-geddy-lee-interview-favourite-albums
4. Went through the same process...then tried a Squier Vintage Mod Jaguar (with the Duncan Designed pups), got over my snobbery and realised the tone options were great now it's my main bass. 3 hours with sandpaper and some plastikote rattlecan to get rid of the tort pickguard and job's a good un. 5. Hi, cheers for reading 31yo bass player looking for other folk who want to make interesting noise. Looking to commit to practicing together once a week, initially jamming and poss covers with a view to writing our own stuff and gigging as soon as possible. Own kit and transport an advantage. Into a fair range of stuff, but at the minute spending a fair bit of time with Fugazi, Slices, Minutemen, Husker Du, f***edUp, Les Savy Fav, Parts and Labor, Cancer Bats, Dead Kennedys, Queen and Perfect Circle. Cheers, drop me a pm if you're interested. Time playing or gig/band experience much less important than attitude! J
