  1. Do yourself a favour and do not use that M-Audio, i had one and never could make it work. it will cut off in the middle of a recording.

The Zoom B3 can work with asio4all drivers.

As for DAW I would go for Reaper or Tracktion T7 (this one is completely free and without restrictions). Tracktion is very simple to use and very Tape machine like workflow.

Thank you, thank you and thank you - that's for each of your posts regarding goodies! I've just grabbed EzMix and those Orchestral plugins as well as the free copy of Isotope. I'll be off to grab the SSD5Free too.

Very much appreciate your posts sir!

You're very welcome Dan, always a pleasure.

Wicked; very wicked. Everyone knows that I'm a sucker for all things orchestral..! Acquired (although a bit of a 'faff' to install the beggars, with iLok hoops to jump through...). S'better be worth it..!

(Potters off, muttering to no-one in particular "Wicked man; wicked, wicked man...")

In all honesty the strings sound very sweet, still need to try the brass but don't doubt they sound great too.

    Enjoy!!

Indeed I do; a template would be very handy. :)

Go here, there are 2 versions:

1 - with only multiple velocity layers which sounds great

2- With multiple velocity layers and round robins which uses more resources but sounds amazing

It's a vintage Ludwig kit, they created the GUI for Kontakt and Sforzando and a template for Reaper.

    https://smmdrums.wordpress.com/for-reaper/

Download, open it in Reaper and press play. You'll be amazed at how great it sounds.

Don't forget the manual it explains how to use it in your mixes.

Brilliant. I’ll have a look later. For bass I don’t need fx when recording a track but laying an electric guitar down I think it’ll be more useful, to get the feel of what I’m playing at the time.

No idea why my bass track is muting when I turn on the fx for playback.

Hey if you need any more help with everything Reaper, just subscribe to the channel "ReaperMania" in Youtube. Everything is organized in playlists.

  6. Well not entirely for free but for as low as $1.

1- Go to Plugin Boutique and create an account (free)

2- Go to deals and buy any plugin, you can buy any of those really cheap ones they have from $1 to $5.

3- Once you complete your purchase, they'll send you a code to download your version of Ozone.

4- Once you download Ozone follow the instructions to register your copy for free.

Please notice this is the basic version of Ozone but it is still a great mastering tool.

They've just announced by email a new load of acts for the Fall (not The Fall!), but it was just a teaser from DH so no details yet.

That would be great news!! that program is everything I wanted from a music show. Great musicians playing together and working out new versions of their own songs or even new covers

You are right it would be cheap to make, and probably get good audience figures. My live music fix at the moment is Daryl's House. Some great stuff on there.

I love the program but in all honesty it seems that after selling to MTV they are not updating the website with new content regularly. IT's a shame.
