1. ok, My main bass now fixed, Thinking For Tuesday are returning to the 229 Club on the evening of the 22nd June.

we are on stage first (at about 8PM) so would be nice to see some of you about, be sure to say hi if you are there.

if you want to come, there are a few things you should know.

the 229 Club is just over the road from Great Portland Street Tube Station (Underneath the International Students House)

entry is £7 (you need to add your name to our list of attendees - easiest way is to search Facebook for 'Thinking For Tuesday 229 Club' and click attending there)

if you do come along, Have fun!

    thanks folks!

  2. hey folks,

Thinking For Tuesday are playing at the Hobbit in Southampton tonight!

Fantastic Venue with some awesome looking cocktails (I still haven't been able to try them as I always end up driving)

free entry before 10 (I believe) us and another local Band (TIMSHEL) come on down, should be a great night!

    Come down, say hi!

    Catch you later!

  3. Don't get me wrong, the 610 HLF is fantastic nice and punchy with some decent lows, low mids and highs. lets make sure that there is no confusion, it produces the sound I want.

I, like a lot of other people I am sure (Honestly back me up here folks), just always seem to want more...

it was an option in the manual for the SVT4 and I've heard it recommended as a Bi-amp option elsewhere and thought it would be nice to try.

the other side of this (and the reason why I would prefer a 2x10 or 2x12 rather than a 15 or 18 - I did consider it honestly) is that the other cab could then be used to accommodate smaller stages that we sometimes play while still providing that 'punchiness' that only seems to come with 10 and 12 inch speakers.

I agree FOH should be handling the proper low end (important part of that of course is 'should')

something else I've considered - although I'm not sure yet how I would transport it as well is to get another 610 HLF and run one either side of the drumkit.

not sure what my drummer would make of it though and it may not suit the smaller stages... but for the bigger ones it would be cool! (my opinion of what is 'cool' may not actually be 'cool' but I don't care)

  4. ok,

I have an SVT 4 pro and a 610HLF and I currently run full range through the 610 HLF from one of the power amps in the SVT 4 PRO.

I am wanting to run another cab from the other Power amp just for low frequencies. that is small enough to be used as a full range cab for smaller gigs.

Ideally I'm looking for a 2x10 or 2x12 cab that can take the output of one of the power amps (500Watts ish RMS at 4 Ohms) that has a decent enough Low End response to take the Biamping.

I realise this is quite an ask for such a little cab but figured if anyone would know, it'd be you people.

    let me know

  5.
No - then it would Cmajor sharp 5 flat 9 to C altered dominant with a G in the bass.
I almost followed that... :)

I'm going to lie down now

just a snippet I think but...

  6. well this Sunday (2nd May) Thinking For Tuesday are making the trip down to Devon to play on the stage at the Bikers Make A Difference festival on Paignton Seafront.

    Should be a good time!

I have also been led to believe that at least one other Basschatter is playing on the Saturday (unfortunatley I'm not going to be able to be there - Sorry elom)

come down and make yourselves known, be great to chat with new people!

  7. kind of like the second link in this post
This one? Just go to the "harm" tab and click "show all".
    <two minutes later>
    Here you go.
but with the notes also tied to the musical staff.

  8. I'm starting to learn to read Bass Harmonics in Standard notation, it isn't as easy as straight Bass Clef.

do any of you have an A4 PDF (one or two sides of) that will help me tie up the notes on the Musical Staff to the location of the harmonic on the fretboard?

I would prefer that it used treble clef rather than lots of ledger lines but something is better than nothing.

It would be nice to not have to go and buy a book just for this.

  9. this may seem a bit daft, I assume the picture next to your posts is you...

you've not switched wearing your watch from your left wrist to your right wrist?

I've had watches with hands (hour, minute, second - you get the idea) get their motion reported by the pickups on basses before.

Apologies if that isn't it, and good luck getting it fixed.

  10. Peter,

Sorry it's taken me so long.

    Replied to your PM.

Will reply again now having read your post.

if that is the case I'm still going to only take £120 (no flexibility upwards in price either) but it might work better if you transfer the cash to your friend and we can do cash for bass.

    :)

    Barny
Not even flexibility upwards in price?

I'm really interested in your Katana, but I live in Sweden, however, a friend of mine will stay at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel located at Hyde Park in London during next weekend (Thursday evening to early Monday morning).

If you're interested in selling it to me and drop it off at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, I'm willing to give you £150 for the bass guitar!

So what do you think about that? I can transfer the money to your bank account so that you know that you're not making the trip unnecessarily.

Otherwise if you can consider sending it to Sweden, that could also be an option, but then I'll only willing to pay £135+shipping.

  11. Have E-mailed Hipshot, but they haven't replied yet.

I think it is one of these ones,

    HE6C - 1/2" Clover Key

    or this one

    HE6C - 3/8" Clover Key

what is the 1/2" and 3/8" measuring?

  12. ok, I have one of these Deluxe Jazz Bass 24 V

in the spec it says the Tuners are 'Hipshot® Tapered Shaft'

so if I were to install a Hipshot D-Tuner on the B string, which one would I use?

I will post pictures Later if required.
