A japanese-made classic that somehow has never flown up in price! It would have cost you £124 in 1981 (seriously: https://westoneguitars.net/scans-1/catalogues-price-lists/1981-catalogue/ ). 41 years later and it's barely more.

Most of you will know that Westone is a classic brand of the "made in the same factory as XXXXX" school from Japan in the late 70s and 80s. This is a great "do nearly everything" bass at a low price. It has an active preamp that runs off two (count 'em) 9V batteries, but you can turn it off and run it passive. There's even a "dual tone" switch for putting the P-bass pickup in series or parallel.

History - I picked this up last year to fix, from a guy in Crouch End who had forgotten to keep it working! I've replaced the tuners (you can have the three working Westone ones with it), a broken pot, a broken switch, the missing knobs and given it a gentle clean. It's ready to be someone's backup/living room/loaner/gift to a learner/dirty gig bass again. It will never be perfect (the tiny chips and rubs on the finish are its personality) but it will always be damn good.

£160 if you meet me in North or Central London to pick it up. I can ship at your expense (and risk!), but obviously a handover is nicer and safer.

A pair of Delano jazz bass pickups, ready to drop into your bass. These are split coil humbuckers, packed into jazz bass cases with big pole pieces.

I have a TL606-style cab, ported, made of ply, painted black with a metal grille, flip-up handles, plastic corners and wheels. I was about to take it to the tip but thought I could offer it here to someone who will use it. I refurbed it a couple of years ago and it looks nice, but realistically I'll never use it.

It needs: a 15" speaker (I have an unused Kapplite 3015 I can sell you if needed) and some input sockets fitting.

I'm in Holloway, North London. Need to shift it pretty fast please. I don't have transport so you'll need to come and get it.

There is no sight better than a 6ft bass player with a tiny bass.

Up for sale here a bass I bought for a bit of a laugh, but which now has to travel on to a new home since I'm not really playing any more. It's a Tanglewood Elfin, that I've modified to make a convincing E-A-D-G bass. It has a replacement tuner for the E-string and a Schaller P-Bass pickup (based, I think on a Dimarzio design). It sounds like a real bass. Hell, it is a real bass! (but small). Strung (I think...) 130-105-85-65

Sad to see it go but I'll sell it to anywhere in the UK for £50 posted. Alternatively you can meet me in London and save the postage in which case I'll do it for £40.

Not doing much music these days, but interested in trades for stuff I can sell. Hell, stuff that is smaller than two mics and shockmounts in cases would be nice!

A pair of ribbon mics, made in China (but they're the good ones made in China!). I bought these a couple of years ago and have never used them, other than checking that they work. They're in the original bags in the original cases with the proper shockmounts.

These were originally over £500 (the recordinghacks review with an MRP of 899 USD! http://recordinghacks.com/microphones/SE-Electronics/R1) They've since been reduced and Andertons are currently selling them for £150 each (albeit these are specially made versions aimed at the £150 price point, not reduced £500 stock).

A weird and wonderful bitcrusher, hand made in small batches and not at all since 2012 (as far as I can tell).

Used, but with no issues. A couple of bits of worn paint both otherwise great. It has velcro stuck onto its feet and the writing on the back says it was made in 2010.

Here's a box of digital tricks to make your vocals sound weird and wonderful. It autotunes, creates harmonies, makes you a robot, and a whole load of other effects.

I bought this a couple of years ago for a very short-lived band. It's been from my house to the rehearsal studio a couple of times, and that's it. It has a couple of paint scratches from a badly-packed pedalboard, but is otherwise in great condition. It comes withe the manual and the original BOSS power supply.

These sell used on eBay for £120-140 plus shipping, so I think £100 shipped in the UK is a fair price for my lovely basschatters.

I'm downsizing my recording setup. I don't need 5 different ways to record a bass guitar, for example.

First to go is this Heil PR-40. The paintwork is a bit beaten up, yes, but the mic works perfectly and isn't dented or gouged. This is a large-diaphragm dynamic microphone, so it's perfect for recording bass cabs, kick drums, or the human voice. It's a bit like the Electrovoice RE-20 in that it was designed for voiceover artists and radio presenters, but turned out to be amazing on bass too.

These are currently £352 on Thomann http://www.thomann.de/gb/heil_sound_pr40.htm , so I think £100 posted (in mainland UK) is a pretty good price. It comes with the original mic clip.

Apparently the aluminium body / wooden neck thing is popular with guitarists. A friend of mine who made all-aluminium guitars was advised by a big Guitar magazine journalist to switch to wooden necks to improve sales.

I don't see the point myself. It's the aluminium neck that feels to me like it makes a difference from a normal all-wood construction. Hence all the weird metal things with strings on in my living room.

I wonder if this company could be talked into making a one-off with a metal neck...
