Like that one too.
Is it a very subtle 3 colour sb or a 2 colour?
Cheers! Its a very subtle 3 tone. -

Time for an update!
Bass arrived in country with me courtesy of my parents Ryanair packing skills. Cheers Mum and Dad. So for the first time since i bought in 2011 we live in the same country. Bass was shipped in bits. Body detached from the neck and all the hardware removed. Spent a happy 10 minutes bolting everything together until i got to the pick ups. Firstly they didn't look like the Nordstrand i had sent of for repair and secondly they didn't fit. I wasn't sure if id be sent the wrong set from Nordstrand, Considering I had bought them as new but through basschat in 2014 and then I sent them from repair in 2015 i felt than sending them another email 2 years after was pushing it a bit. I was a little dejected at this point as i still hadn't played the damn thing since 2011. Dad dug around at his house and found the correct pickups about a week later He put them separate for safe keeping. We now have a mystery set of Jazz pickups neither of us remember buying
So as things stand she looks like this

Plans are, fit pick ups. Fit knob covers. Play. Kinda in that order. Maybe a grounding kit? there is no route from the control cavity to the bottom of the bridge which is odd. Acoustically this ones plays very, very nicely. I really like the battered-ness of it. I have a couple of flawless Fender Japan VSP nitro finished bass that i am terrified to play in case i mark them

Hopefully next update will be in a couple of weeks when the pickups arrive and not in another 2 years -

How much would a £120 Fender bass (if we could buy that one) be landed in the UK. I thought it was £40 or so p&p, and then about 25% (very rough) on top for duties etc. That would make it £200 or so. Still seems a bargain. However, there is the question of why that Fender is so much cheaper than the other ones. I'm sure there will be a reason.
Could someone who has bought from Ishibashi Gakki please comment giving better estimates?

That bass isnt a reissue model its just plain Jane bass. Think Mexican standard.
Use http://www.dutycalculator.com/
Total customs value (CIF): £207.37

I suspect the post office will sting you for another 20 quid for handling fee -

Back to Ishibashi. Japanese made Greco bass for £70.
The white Aria Pro II SB1000ST is a modern model, which isn't top of the range. New price on it is £750 or so.
Cheapest Fender on Ishibashi is this one: http://store.ishibas.../1/80-325648803 £120.

They are a bit sneaky. If you try and by that bass and have it shipped out of Japan they will say no. This link is where the sell stuff to customers out of Japan, we kind of get the left overs and stuff that doesnt sell. I have had ordered many guitars from Ishibashi always top service -
I have good news for you. That is a RI, I cant tell from the photo but if the ends of the bridge are spirals then its a non export one
With out seeing the neck stamps its hard to tell.
I think £400/450 with the hard case would be a fair offer -

Hi there are these still for sale and do they have the screws with them . Are that active?, many thanks paul
Hi Paul,
yes they are still for sale, I am afraid they do not come with the screws. They passive pick ups. -
Its not a re-issue so not as desirable or worth as much as others here have suggested. If its in really good condition or you have a really good day id say £350-400
Easy way to tell if its a re-issue is the head stock font, earthing strap on the bridge, spiral bridge. Or post photos and we can tell you -
Bump. Price adjusted and open to offers. Would be interested in trade for Focusrite Scarlett 2i4

Toms a good guy to deal with. Asked to put a set of tuners on hold till after payday then paid promptly. Thanks dude.

You didn't buy the one that was on an eBay shop for ages did you? I didn't have the funds to snag it myself!

I got mine from ishibashi. I have ordered maybe 6 or 7 guitars from them now. Everyone has been in as new condition, Ended up with a Jazz and a P bass -
I have had a Jazz power Special and it was a great guitar. Possibly I shouldn't have sold it as it was pretty mint.
I know how you feel, I have recently taken delivery of two Fender VSP bass from Japan and was checking the tracking info ever day -
I now its rude to ask about another mans knobs but are you interested in selling them Also the bridge?
-
tracing paper over the hole and draw around the lip. then cornflake box and make a template that way
I was going to offer you the one form my special but its different to the power special. -

I have had two of the Contemporary Strats before there are great guitars. This one looks a steal.

I had a Bravewood strat a few years ago and it was outstanding. My dad has had his '62 Jazz bass refinished by Bravewood and it is some of the best finish work i have seen. Highly recommended.
I will be getting a Jazz bass built by him when funds allow. -

Is this a refinish then as the VSP's were poly finished. Either way, it's a beauty, congratulations!

Interested too see where you got that info from? Even the old fender Japan site said nitro.
