found this post for anyone else occupied with this task, its not the inside of a TB600 it must be the TB1, hope it helps.
Guess who opened up his amp to get that surprise!

  2. Hi,
My Fender TB600 Combo has started to sound jangly and fuzzy and i think it must be the death of the valves in the preamp, so have searched for replacement valves online and am about to jump in and have a go at replacing myself.
Searched youtube for videos and nothing specific for the tb600/1200 there, though much about how to replace valves in other amps.
the manual says 12ax7wc (sovtek) valves but i have 12ax7 electro harmonix-cryo coming from watford valves.
So...... it does look easy, but should i call in - your advice/an expert to do it/an undertaker??
    Please advise.
    thanks for reading.

Hahaha, that would indeed have been Samson (Bruce Dickinson's band before he joined Maiden - although I believe 'Thunderstick' was in a later line up than Bruce).
Their bass player, Chris Aylmer, was actually one of my predecessors in a Norwich based band I played with for about a year and a half called The Floating Greyhounds.
Paul Samson passed away from cancer a few years back. Met him a few times and be came across as a pleasant guy but was less than complimentary about Bruce.

Bruce Bruce as he was then known was in the band with Thunderstick. Saw Samson in Edinburgh in a venue next to the playhouse, can't remember the name, late 80/81. shook hands with Paul Sampson mid song, I thought he was so cool, I was so happy and so young.
Gutted when Samson split with Bruce Dickinson leaving, though interesting to hear Paul's inside info.

Worst band live for me -- Guillemots. Supporting the Scissor Sisters. Exeter......but thats because a massive lightening strike took out the power, to the massive frustration of the lead singer who tried to carry on alone just using a piano. Was eventually dragged off stage gutted. Shame really. Bless.

  4. I've paid more than that for a bass cause i knew i wanted it. no problem,- bought!
i've hummed and hawed over less than a third of that, so if there's doubt, then the answer is no.
Its all about how you feel, not anyone else, if you think its worth it then its worth it, cause its you who will be playing it and you know how much money you have..

It's always struck me how much Ian Anderson looked like Chris Martin round about that '76 Minstrel phase.

Chris was born in '77 so perhaps should be, Chris Martin who looks like Ian Anderson round about that '76 Minstrel phase, unless either possessed a time machine!
