Clear out continues, I have a loaded Jazz bass style cover in good condition, with knurled spindles but knobless! VVT and standard jack. Offers, be silly if you like! Bugger I should have polished it first, will clean up, not scratched at all.
-
I bought these from the States as Genuine USA 1983 PUP and Bridge cover for a USA PB. I rightly or wrongly assumed they would fit my 1975 pbass!!!!
The bridge cover is in my opinion from a Jazz as its way too big, I argued this out with our US cousin and he categorically stated he bought his pb new in 1983 and took the covers off stored them and then eventually sold em to me. hmmmmm is a 83 so much different than a 75?
Any how they are up for offers, light scratching, genuine USA covers!

I'm not at all comfortable with the Pbass neck dimensions and much prefer the 1.5 Jazz neck measurement, so am wanting to swap my 1975 Precision for a Jazz style / sadowsky or whatever. Must have 1.5 nut measurement.
Details:
1975 Precion bass with immaculate and I mean immaculate Maple neck, barely a mark safe for some normal wear on the lower side of the neck on the g string side on the edge of the neck, the usual place, from years of use.
Serial number is 644832.
Non original bits are the knobs and the bridge everything else dates from 75, pups are stamped and the pots and pic guard are all from 74/75.
1 bad bit is that it was once active and there is a small 9v battery size rout under the guard, very neat and only the size of the battery. There are also 2 screw holes where a thumb rest was at some time placed on the lower register, there are no extra holes though in the present pic guard.
Wonderful body grain that follows the contour of the pic guard almost exactly, that always gets comments oddly!
There are normal wear marks on the upper edge and some belt rash to the rear.
Nice skunk stripe, no lifting, neck is superb, sound is what you would expect, although the tone control to my aged ear seems to not make too much difference, shes loud and thumpy as it should be.

good call Crazy, now theres a thought! a BC1 Shuker limited edition.

As a Lakand fan and indeed a Dudepit fan I am upset that the DPLE111 seems to have hit some snags, I thought about fronting up for one of these as i have a dple1 and just wondered if anyone had any further info?

WE all get older and come back to Ps in the end...........nice one.
I Love my 75 but still like a Jazz neck so hankering for a 70s p with a Jazz neck, i know there are some about somewhere -
ye it may be a maple/rw thing perhaps someone could clear this up?
I think the maple fingerboards do. I've seen loads of Rosewood boarded 70's Fenders without the stripe. Maybe it was a case of using up old stock
is this not the same one that sold for a fortune in the US lately?

My 1975........SB is the classic Fender colour IMHO...

I have a 75 PB maple fretted but i c u have one of those, me thinks a thinner jazz neck might suit me better
Hello Hiperi0n!
Ta for your offer... lovely bass, but not quite what I'm after (whatever that may be!).
Good luck with the sale.
-
How expensive is expensive compared to dare i say mainline basses?
-
Some very good points made and noted, I suppose it has some bearing on what budget is available and what you can expect for the money as it were, if Yammys punch above their weight all well and good, but the ones I tried were with a tad mass produced sort of feel, i know they all are but u get my drift.
-
Loads of u guys use Yammys, Ive tried a few in shops and been totaly underwhelmed, by the sound, and presence let alone the lack of mystique of say a Fender and indeed any future residual value. Please put me right.

That cuts the can i pay on collection pms i guess http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WAL-CUSTOM-BASS_W0QQ...1QQcmdZViewItem
