1. I tried, but got snipered with a second to go! :-(
 2. Thanks gents, much appreciated.
 3. Hi All, just wondered what thoughts you may have of King Double Basses. If anyone has played one, if it was a favourable experience or not. I'm looking at getting my first DB (want to play R&R) & wanted some idea of what they're like, sound build quality etc. all input gratefully received.
 4. For sale Tanglewood trb-ce, bought for £360 in December from Brighton Guitars, looking for £210 ovno. Very good condition, apart from two very small marks, which were there when I bought it, & should be noted in the sale I feel. Comes with a padded gigbag. Never been gigged as I've never been in a band! I've not played it nearly as much as I thought I would, so it has to go. Features

* Solid Sitka Spruce Top
* Rosewood back and sides
* Mahogany neck
* Maple bound Rosewood fingerboard
* Abalone dot inlays
* Rosewood bridge
* Gold Bass machine heads
* Rosewood rosette
* Herringbone top binding
* Maple back & side binding
* Black ABS bridge pins with White dots
* Bone compensating saddle
* B-Band A3 EQ & Tuner
* Phospherous bronze strings
As I don't have a hardcase, sorry, but it's collection (or possible delivery/meet) only. Thanks for looking
 5. For sale Yamaha RBX 170, not played in the last 6months, it'd only be collecting dust if it wasn't stored in a gigbag. An ideal beginners bass or use as a back up. In very good condition, just 1 very minor dent, which I've tried to show in pic, but its so small it hardly shows. Plays very nicely. Bargain £85ono, you can collect from Brighton or i'd be willing to travel approx 1hour to meet.
Hi Dom Whilst I am having a crack at RHCP's im not sure im that good yet, their version of Higher Ground is totally beyond me at the moment but Dani California and Suck my Kiss are more my level. I have to say, I really like Kasabian and as for the Stranglers, they were the first band I ever saw live, aged 15 in 1980 at the Brighton Centre! J J Burnel is a legend! Sounds like your getting on well to me. What gear are you using? Gary
J J... legend...... I saw the Stranglers in March at the Dome, great night, & still rocking it! loving Kasabian too, i can just about play 'Reason is Treason'! i was looking at the tabs for Dani California, still too quick for my stiff little fingers! reckon you progression is going very well, do you get to practise much? i've got a Yamaha RBX170 & a Fender rumble 30 amp, but i fancy upgrading to a Precision, what are you using? Dom

 10.
Hi Dom The playing is going quite well thanks. I think I need my bass setting up properly mind you. I used to be a huge Police fan in my teen years and alway liked Sting's approach to the bass lines. Also, they are fairly simplistic (which helps). I have learnt about 5 of their songs so far and also am having a crack at a couple of chilli peppers songs (they are a bit harder for my rookie fingers!) How about you? Gary
Hi Gary Things must be progressing nicely if you're on RHCP's already! i had a go at a couple of theirs, but i'm def too slow at the mo!(I am the slow cheetah!!! ) I've learnt a couple of Kasabian, a couple of Ramones, Stranglers & Bob Marley songs.... all easy, slow riffs tho!!! but mainly doing lots of basic, repetitive excersises and scales. Dom
 11.
Hi there. Welcome, I'm a total newbie bass player too (about 8 weeks experience in total) and am just along the coast in Eastbourne. Gary
hey Gary, hows the playing going? what sort of stuff are you playing?
 12. Thanks for the warmth welcomes from southern & fellow coast bassists!
 13. Hi all Well, i am completely brand new to bass, only been playing (trying to!) for 6 weeks. But I absolutely love it! (don't think the mrs or kids would say the same!!!) Had a couple of lessons, which has helped lots, didn't want to fall into bad habits! but practise practise practise & i'll get there... cheers Dom
