I run a small trading business on Eaby and I never use ParcelForce. There are always problems, always! You get the impression that if there were only one parcel a year to deal with it would be late! I consistently use DHL. I know the two guys that pick up from me and they are always courteous and professional. So far!

Can anyone identify what effect is used on the bass guitar. It is very distinctive and found on lots of reggae tracks. You might need some speakers with a decent bottom end! lol

Ok, thats great. The new bridge has totally different mounting holes so that will help. Im just waiting for all my bits to arrive then I will take it apart. Give it a coat of paint and put it back together with the new bits. Thanks for the help

No, you're right. I just had a measure up. Shame, that would have explained why they routed such a large opening, so why bother to accurately route the bridge pickup and not the neck. Weird? Is there a wider after market neck pickup that some players prefer?

Well thats the thing. I rather like the "no scratch plate" look. Could you explain to me about the P bass pickup thing?

Why do some replacement jazz type bodies have a large "oversize" cut out for the neck pick up? I have just been skimming through Ebay and noticed one or two like this eg "mighty mite". While some appear to have the snug, "close" fitting pick up cut out?

In the antiques world this sort of mark would be called general "patina" or usual age related marks for an object that is meant to be used not looked at. Found on instruments and firearms etc. Dont worry too much.

I was coming home from work just outside Colchester tonight and while trying to find a town in essex with a working cash point, happened upon one of those shops that sells old 35mm cameras and watches. He had some old records and tucked in the corner of the shop window was an amp. Laney linebacker 30. Looked OK. Price label said £70. Worth going back for it do you think? Might offer him £50?

On the Stranglers "Goodbye Toulouse" bass line, is that an Arpeggio? Also, it seems that the tabs are different depending on where you look. Youtube also has some good attempts, but they dont all play the same "pattern". I guess the only way is to study JJ but he seems to have the knack of turning away from the camera at the appropriate moment. lol

Take it back. You have already paid for the warranty in the purchase price. You are entitled to use it, surely. Manufacturers take notice of warranty claims, you could help improve things in future.

Great, thanks. It makes interesting reading. My bridge is obviously in the correct position and I am changing it to upgrade/improve the worn out original. I like the way you used the strings to set the rearward position. How did you set their length accurately when you have to undo them to get the bridge off? Also, could I mark the position of the ends of the strings now and use that as a reference point for the new bridge?

I am looking at replacing the bridge on my j bass copy. How do I select the appropriate position if my current locating holes dont line up. Can I allow for any slight inaccuracies with the built in adjustment?
