    Steady now - wasn't me guv'nor.

I blame the rubbish German engineered truss rod. They are notorious for their cheap shonky engineering and use of cheese for metal..

Hopefully with the new titanium one you’ll be able to really lean into it! 😀

  2. I messaged the guy and asked if he had any paperwork to ‘back up’ the original build claim. He gave me a name that I could approach overwater with regarding its history from 2010? Not sure that they’d give out that info, also implies he’s obtained the instrument to resell and it came with a ‘story’.

He said he will apparently be relisting it soon, after some ‘work’ and new better pics

Is this a new thing? I don't recall seeing this before.

No I don’t think so. It’s always there, but selling multiple items from one listing requires choices, for example, if you are selling envelopes you would offer different sizes fair enough? But some people exploit this by listing a few items knowing that the cheapest will be the price  shown in the listing. Bit naughty really and somewhat annoying when you are researching prices

Whilst not bass-related, I spotted this ebay auction this morning for a Chinese-made Les Paul. The price states £190.74.....but the default option for this auction appears further down and states that price is for the case only!  If, in your excitement,  you hit the BIN, imagine your surprise three weeks later on receiving an empty case!

Caveat Emptor, and all that, of course. I put the link into another browser to see if anything changed but case is the default option. Description says nothing about drawing buyers' attention to the options. Shonky movers.

    Les Paul Auction

It’s an eBay thing. Eg You list a guitar with a case and a strap. You price each thing individually and the listing will show the cheapest item. Until you click on the drop down box and realise £3.99 was the strap?

I think it’s a variation on ‘bait and switch’

Like a tone so transparent you can see through it, and the option to adjust the pickup placement to wherever you with?

Just don't worry about the head dive, questionable intonation (the Strat body must be too short for the scale length, right?), and general mechanical unsoundness of the wood at that neck joint.

Can I ask what was your search criteria when this popped up?😀

Great thing about ebay is every customer gets to give an honest report on the item they've bought and it's there for everyone to see.

Probably worth having a look at his, as all of his customers seem happy 🤷🏻‍♂️

Do they know what they are buying, emporers clothes springs to mind? And what instruments that he has 'improved ' would you be happy to buy? I don't get the mental health angle? He runs a business, it's not a charity. He's not doing us any favours. I think his work should scrutinised in the same way any luthier could be on this forum?

    Raisins! It has to be!

I don't know what's wrong with you guys, it's obviously liquorice!

Have none of you noticed that using the 12string saddle as a six string give that unique string spacing for players with hands like gorillas?
