Hi, I bought a Fender fretless neck from DV247, £193, shipped from Germany, delivered by UPS. I was charged an extra £51 by UPS before they would deliver. So it seems that the UK import charges are now the same for USA or Europe or the world. Not sure what happened to all those brexit trade deals??
I have asked DV247 if this correct for the UPS charge? Still waiting for an answer. I'll let you all know the outcome.
I wonder how this import charging is going to affect all of the retailers with a UK base, but their stock in Euro warehouses? Also what about the Euro bass makers? It might end up with USA Fenders being cheaper than Sandbergs etc?

Hi I have a crowther hotcake that I would like modded. Anyone know of someone who is good at this?
Thanks.

They are about £350, but so are a lot of non valve preamps. Look like they are built to last, but heavy 3+ lbs. Pity there's no di.
-
Has anyone ever tried one of these with a bass? Apparently two channels, one is clean with loads of headroom, the other channel is an overdrive.
This is all valve, but it is voiced for guitar.https://www.victoryamps.com/v4-the-countess-pedal-preamp

Has anyone rehoused a TS9 tube screamer? I have one that was modded a while back, but it is a heavy pedal and i'd like it in a lighter casing. Anyone done this or know of someone who's good with a soldering iron?
Cheers.

Hi could anyone recommend someone who can mod pedals? I'd like to bypass the boost on my dbl hotcake, so that the two sides can 'stack' into one another with all controls working. At the moment when you click on the second side it only boosts, adding gain but bypassing the 2nd side's controls. It thins out the sound. But two hotcakes side by side sound awesome!!
Any help much appreciated.

Now sold to Mr. Mooseblaster.

Yep the bass is still for sale.

Few new photos - it's difficult to show the colour of this bass. Dark sunburst, with a black/very dark purple back. Looks great with the macassar ebony finger board.

Hi Jezzer, after a bit of googling i have found out that the string spacing is adjustable. There are allen key screws at the bottom of the bridge that when unscrewed adjust the individual strings.
- Three-dimensionally adjustable
- Material: Steel
- Bore hole spacing: 70 mm
- Total string spacing: 54 mm
- Dimensions: (L x W x H) 54.5 x 80 x 12 mm
- Weight: 210
- Made in Germany
-
Yes its adjustable - see post below. The bridge is a Schaller 2000.

Fairly light weight - 8.5lbs/ 3.8kg - a lot lighter than my Jazz 5!

Yep amazingly Peted it's still for sale.😥
I have added a couple of photos - one of the fingerboard to show the ebony wood figuring and one one of the back of the neck to show the maple/ebony laminate strips.
Jon Shuker certainly knows how to build basses. I've spent many years playing Wal basses so that is what i am comparing the fretless to and it is equal in build and sound quality. The custom wound Wizzard pickups have a great sound, bright but with weight.
