After my five mins of using the amp last night, when I moved the amp back into the corner. I found this on the floor (see picture below) This must have fallen out of the back

Now I know why the chassis is loosen one side – it’s the cage nut and the chassis flange that should hold it in place – broken off.

STILL KEEPING THE COMBO !

Just read an article on how to check the “With Horn”, “Without Horn” sockets on the B200R.

This one has had the mod, 4ohms reading “Without Horn”

This amp reminds me so much of the Ampeg Combo my uncle loaned me when I first moved from Guitar to Bass in the early sixties.

He played an upright Bass into his Ampeg Combo, in a local Rock n Roll band. Thinking back, the amp portion came out at the back on some hinge unit, then you clipped it onto the top. Have not seen any pictures of that type of Ampeg Combo yet, also he must have been earning some money to afford one!

I can still see him in my mind, getting onto a double decker bus, sliding his upright Bass under the stairs in its brown canvas cover, then rolling the Combo in and packing something around it  to stop it rolling out! He progressed from using local bus services, to building a two wheeled trolly to pull along behind his push bike. THEM WERE THE DAYS!

Anyhow, on closer looking at this Combo, from the serial number, it was made in China for the UK market 2009, (21)DYUUVA0006. Reading on the web, one of the issues this model made in China has had, is the With Horn / Without Horn sockets at the back. Apparently, there was some confusion regarding the earth on the Without Horn socket between Loud Technology and China when they first started manufacturing, which led to a lot of the Amps being fried, if you unplugged the cable from With Horn to Without Horn. This combo has it plugged in the With Horn and that’s where it is staying. The chassis is loose from the cabinet on the RH side, which I will take a look at when I get time

Apart from the chassis being loose and finding a way to verify the horn (without frying the output) this amp is a keeper.

Sorry about the long read, but these things keep coming back to you when you get to my age.

Due to the ill health of my wife ( Parkinsons and Dementia ) my life , and playing in bands , stopped two years ago,  and I now care for her 24/7 .

The only little bit I have of my life is playing bass for five or ten minutes a day , the rest of the day is caring for her .

This came up on Reverb over here at £199 ,,,,,,,,,,,,how could I not buy it .

I aint got many years left myself ( I`m 78) so why not treat myself .

Its heavy (69Ib) but what a sound . It takes me back to when I started playing in the early 60`s

Hi , 

I have an Ampeg Combo ( Ampeg B-200R Rocket Bass Combo ) with a 4 ohm 15 inch speaker inside , Can I replace it with a 8 ohm 15 inch speaker , being that it is a Transistor amp ?

I know it will reduce the output .

Sent an email to Mooer, they got back within 3hrs amazing !

Told me that the blue BT logo only lights up when playing music from your phone through the Prime M1 ( had not tried playing music from my phone through it ) 

Hey presto .............all lights up and works great !

I suppose you could put it down to user error ! 😉

Anyhow , cancelled the Thomann return , this is for keeps now

Found one on Thomann..............I cant believe it ..............same problem !

M1 works perfectly except that the BT logo does not light up , even though its paired to my mobile or iPad 

Anyone else having this problem ?

Going to get in touch with Mooer , see what they say 

I`m awaiting Thomanns decision ( maybe they are checking stock ? )😄

Anyone else tried it yet ?

Mine came yesterday , mind blowing to start with , so many pre sets , so many effects , so many amps , so much you can do ............*%$£**&^%$££ ! 

Modern tech for an oldie like me ( using an iPad to set up ) after a hour or so , got a great sound AMPEG SVT into a Mesa RR215 IR into the front end of my

old 1995 Peavey T-Max head with a 112 Epifani cab.......how close it sounds to the actual Ampeg amp / Mesa cab speaker I dont care , sounds great to me !

The unit has got to be returned for replacement though , the BT logo does not light up on the unit , even though BT is working .
