1. Tis the way to go I feel. We use X18 and P16 personal monitors; players have choice of iem's or floor wedge. Also using a RCF light weight PA and M80 direct box, guitarist just uses his floor effects unit into PA. We are so lightweight and the quality is so good, can't see us returning to the good bad old days!

2. This is the super rare JV series Vintage Synth board with all the the great sounds from the 70's, 80's & 90's synths.

I am also selling a JV1010 synth module unit and am happy to do a package deal with this board (£270.00).

Owners manual with sound list available from website:

5. I don't use back line these days but go from my bass to a MXR M80 DI box and then go to the PA and monitoring system post EQ.
I think the important thing is once you've set the sound you need to keep it the same, ie not adjusting gain or EQ, which works for me.

6. As well as playing bass in a classic rock tribute band I find myself increasingly interested in electronic music
and play/mess around with some of the Roland Aria gear: namely the System One synth and the TR8 drum machine.
Has anyone used the TB3 bass synth and if so how do you find it?

All of this, very much so. When my back first 'went' I was in my early 40s and a very fit and strong gym bunny. I was getting over a lengthy illness and went a bit mad on exercise - used to rep with 100kg for bench press and 200kg for squats etc. Thought I was invincible. One day I was measuring the width of a room indoors with a tape measure and the act of pulling the end out and sideways is what did it. I actually cried with a mixture of pain, frustration and laughter - often heard the expression 'helpless as a baby' but never thought I'd experience it until that point.

So, yes, if it hasn't happened to you count your blessings but try to understand those who are afflicted. Having a bad back infiltrates pretty much every aspect of your life, not just lightweight bass gear. From not being able to put your socks on some days to standing all day, just because you don't want to have to get up from sitting.

+1

and Kex you have to remember that we don't transport heavy studio monitors or high end hifi to gigs and rehearsals each week, so there are both health and practical considerations.

8. Just thinking lately about bass icons such as Jameson and Jaco and how at their pinnacle they were using Fender basses that were probably no more than 10/12 years old, and yet we seem to put so much emphasis on 'needing' to use or desiring a vintage bass when really these guys show us that its all in the fingers and head?

9. Behringer P16 I Module, light studio use. This amazing piece of kit connects to any mixer’s direct outs and converts up to 16 analogue audio signals to digital ones. They then go from the module via cat 5 cables to Behringer PM16 personal monitors or to Turbosound powered speakers via the Ultranet connection. The module has 6 outs, each of which carries 16 channels; these outs can be expanded further with the use of a Behringer Distribution unit (not supplied). Sound quality is excellent. Comes with mains lead, manual, and original box/packing.
New these units cost around £176. Selling this for £120 plus £10 insured/signed for shipping.
Local collection from Brentwood is good.

10. Excellent flight case, near new condition, very strong and built with robust materials. Custom made (by Buster cases) for a Behringer 2442 mixer only a year ago. Kept in a studio, un-gigged. Size: 6U; Mixer strips are 191/4" long, though total depth is 27" allowing for loom etc. to remain in place during transit/storage. Cost £170.00, looking for around £95.00 though open to close offers. Ideally this needs collecting due to weight and size, though shipping at cost is a possibility...... contact me if you need it shipped. Any questions please ask.
