  1. Having decided a Jazz is my weapon of choice, my 4 month old Ray 34 is up for re homing.

Lovely tobacco sunburst with maple board and matching headstock.Has black plate fitted but will throw in original pearloid white one.Complete with Musicman padded gig bag.Excellent condition.Has very minor scratch on the back caused by using a crap stand at a gig.
This model has the three band active eq.
£450 inc posting or £420 collected from Essex.

  2. So, this is a 2010 Mex Standard Jazz ....about £550 new.

Hes added some crap pearl FX blocks on the board.....added some tins......stuck on a 50th Anni neck plate.... and reckons its worth a slither under a grand!!!!!!!!!.

....but he has been good enough to warn us not to confuse it with a genuine 50th Anniversary Jazz........big of him.

  3. From a bassist perspective, try to incorporate your little finger when doing the root/fifth/octave arpeggios. It will require less hand movement in the long run (excuse the Eagles pun) and make the playing easier. As said, play the arpeggio on the verses aswell. Try to avoid playing open strings (your A I think) as you have less control over sustain etc.

Vocally, very promising, you have a nice texture to your voice. Harmonies a must on this Im afraid, as in all Eagles songs.

Drummer, cant really hear you mate, esp Hi Hat.

Guitarist, bit overpowering on the effects/volume at the start. Try to avoid the slides down the neck after the little fills. You obviously know the solo well, just needs practice...as we all do.

    Nice effort lads and lasses.

  4. Agree with Musicman20, check to see if the preset gains are set low. Suggest you read manual and reset everything to factory settings and start again. There is no way it should need winding to 8/9 for a pub gig. Ive never pushed mine past 5.

  5. Us playing last Wednesday in Chelmsford with special guest Dave Sharp, formerly with 80's rock band The Alarm.
We did a set, Dave did a solo set then we got up and rocked it up a bit together at the end of the night. Great fun.

  6. You are safely the best on that stage if you dont mind me saying so. You obviously know the song well, your mates dont seem to.

If your after a function version of this song, then you are on the right road. If you want to honour the original, they need to know their parts better. This song doesn't need a X Factor style female vox part IMO, the key changes were a little adrift and the guitar solo at the end......................... :) .

Your tone is top notch for that of JE in that era. Your solo is one of the best Ive heard for MG.

Sorry if harsh, but you asked for opinions.

  7. I have for sale the below Fender neckplate, so it will fit a J, P or anything I suppose!!

I have two but am keeping one!!

Laser etched very tastefully with an image of The Ox. Not too obvious, but subtle.

As this plate was a custom order by me and I chose the image, it is highly likely it is one of only two in the world. So, will make your Fender bass very individual and is a nice tribute the the man himself.

Inc post and packaging, I am after £20.

    No Paypal plse!!
