  1. Anyone experienced both amps? Any particular preference? I'm a long time GK user and loved the punch out of my former 700RB. Also interested in the BH550, keen on the idea of warming up my tone. MB Fusion out of my price range unfortunately. Thanks in advance.

  2. I'm looking at pairing 2 x 210's up with a micro head such as the TC BH550. So far I've considered the Fender Rumble 210's and the TC K-210's. Portability and weight are of the upmost importance due to a dodgy back. Would love to hear of any more suggestions. Also looking to buy used.

    Thanks!

  3. Hi

Up for sale is my Gallien Krueger Fusion 550. The amp is in absolutely immaculate condition and has lived in a 3U Gator case since purcahse. Also comes with GK Footswitch. In full working order and a reluctant sale in order to downsize.

Would prefer collection from Sunderland but can courier if required.

    Thanks for looking :D

Any amp as long as it is all tube, don't believe what some people say about SS gear getting 'close enough'.

That's the thing, my GK amp has a tube pre-amp section which delivers extremely tubey tones when the gain is pushed, but this little BA 110 sounds great without the tube section. It has a rich tonal quality to it. Has anyone had any experience with the Portaflex series?

  5. Hi

So I've recently been going through a major GAS crisis after using GK gear for the best part of 10 years. I've tried out numerous amps with the most recent being the TCE RH450, which I have to say sounded pretty nice to my ears. But still, nothing has been able to cut it like my existing GK rig in a band setting. My reason for contemplating a change is to 'warm' up my tone. I'd been advised to try the VT pedal from tech 21 & run it with my GK amp which seemed to be the way to go... until the BA 110v2 turned up. I love the tone from this thing!!! It has a tonne of growl with a great EQ section & holds it's own well in a live environment albeit not powerful enough to gig with. My situation now is GK + VT pedal or all out move to Ampeg? And if so, which amp?

  6. Hi Andy. Thank you for the offer although i'm hoping to buy new for warranty/finance options. Glad to know you guys rate the head so highly. I absolutely loved the tone from the BG250-112 so i'm hopeful for this new setup. I also hope to try out a RH450 in due course as well.

  7. Hi

I'm considering purchasing a TCE BH550 and 2 x RS112 cabs rated at 8 ohms each. My concern is that TCE states that the amp must run at '4 ohms minimum', does that mean I must have both cabs connected at all times or can I run the head with one cab at 8 ohms as well?

    Thanks!

  8. Great. Thanks for the replies : ) I'll have a look into the recommended effects. I actually tired a radical overhaul of the EQ at a recent gig and achieved a much warmer sound by pushing the gain to around 1 o'clock and cut back the high mids to 9 o'clock. Everything else pretty much flat. Very much improved!

  9. Hi

Just after a little advice. I currently gig with a GK Fusion 550 and a GK Neo 212 cab. I'm having difficulty achieving a degree of warmth in my tone. My sound is quite raw and gnarly. I would like to achieve a warmer sound but not sure where to turn. I love the set up as it has more power than I ever need in live situations. Any recommendations on effects/compressors etc..? I go directly into the amp at present.

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks for the comments! I tried the OBT out over the weekend with the Neo 212 and was amazed at the volume of the amp. You're right, 4 & 4 was pretty much bang on. Unfortunately the amp didn't cut as much as my Fusion 550 and I was unable to replicate the growl I get form my existing set up. The amp itself is great though, a very earthy bottom end with tonnes of warmth, also a great match for the Neo 212. I can think of lots of situations where it would fit in perfectly but at present I need that cut I only seem to be able to get from my GK.

  11. Hi

Is it possible to run a GK 4 pin Speakon Cable between a GK Neo Cabinet and a non GK amplifier? The manual for the new amp, an Orange Terror 500, states that a 2 pin Speakon is required where as the Neo cab states that a 4 pin GK Speakon should be used. Help!

    Thanks : )

  12. Hey

I'm hoping to downsize my current rig by hooking up an Orange Terror 500 to my existing GK Neo 212. The amp puts out 500w at 8ohms, the cab is rated at 600w at 8 ohms. Can anyone see the cab being pushed too hard in this setup?

    Thanks!
