Thanks, I don't use a tube amp either. I just go through a Korg pre-amp into 2 solid state Ampeg combos.....simples.
I do prefer the more retro / vintage sound from passive basses.

[center]I bought this as a spare bass. It works well for rock & blues as the sidewinder pickup produces a thunderous sound. I’ve spent extra on it by getting a luthier to dress the frets & move a strap button for better neck / body balance. The bass now plays miles better with the frets smoothed out. The action is low for this type of bass.

The neck is thin, fast and feels similar to a Jazz.[/center]
