If you ever thought about going long scale Nylon strings? The D'Addario ETB92 strings are great. Smooth and quick, with a tone that the bass was intended to put out. Gauge of the strings, .50, .65, .85, .105.

The Hartke LH500 or LH1000 amps are tops. They work. I have the LH500 in my HyDrive 5410. 500 Watts with the 4X10 combo.

I'm using the LH500 on board a HyDrive 5410C. It works and sounds great. I tried three MB450 Marshall heads. The fan motors were terrible. The Hartke does everything I want or need from a 500 watt amp.

I just changed over from the Hartke HyDrive 5210C to the 5410C. It sounds great. 500 Watts straight out with the 4X10. If you want or need 500 watts with he the 5210C, you'll need to add a external cab to it. One unit with the LH500 head on board, no extra stuff to have to move around. It made good sense to me.

I spoke to a few players who were able to try out the new Fender American Specials. They thought they were ok as an upgraded Highway One. But they said for the difference in money, they thought the American Standard was the way to go. They mentioned the Am. Spl. as heavy and not as finished as they thought they should have been.

You are apparently not having the issues I had with three MB450H heads. I had the same Marshall set up as yours for a while. Good gear you have there.

I recently had a Fender Roger Waters P Bass, it didn't have the shine of yours. Good hunting on your neck quest.

Hey man; I really like the look myself too. I heard Fender is dropping my Olympic White/Maple from the Am. Std. Series. Snagged this one new, just as they hung it on the wall. It has an almost Hendrix look to it. I know, dream on.

When using both cabs, have you set the switch on the rear of the M6 from 8-4 ohm to 2 ohm? 8-4 ohm setting for one cab. 2 ohm setting for two cabs.

The Hercules GS414B. Solid and secure. Easy to use with one hand, quick also.

I've seen the BA ll saddles on a site, both un-groved, and the type used on the Fender Hwy. Ones.

I think the photo is to the side because of the size. If you down size it (reduce it), that may rotate it upright.

With two dogs roaming around the house, I keep the Jazz in the case when not in use. So it's not on the stand 24-7 like some basses are. But if i were to keep it on the stand, i'd have no problem with the one I use. A lot better than when i was younger, and leaned it up against the amp. No problem with the Hercules leaning forward or tipping. It really does very well with one handed removing or placing on also. If the bass is plugged in, and strap attached, no problem either. Functional.

I'm using Fender USA Super Bass 8250M, NPS, (.045, .065, .085, .110TW Gauges). I really like them. You may want to check out the D'Addario Nylon Tapewound strings. They're not like the old style Nylon strings at all. They're smooth and have a great bass thump.

I've been using one for about two years now. The Fender Jazz is a great secure fit. Quick and easy to place into, or remove from.

D'Addario Nylons. Super, not anything like the old style tapewound nylons.

I've had a couple of J and P before this one. Rosewood and Maple. This one at least to me, looks and feels perfect. I really think I'm going to hang on to this one.

Have checked out the Epi or Gibson SG Std. Basses? Short scale and not very heavy.

I just switched over from a Roger Waters P Bass, to the Am. Std. Jazz. It sounds great, and is very playable. The Fender USA Super Bass 8250M, NPS, (.045, .065, .085, .110TW Gauges) work well with it. I like the heavier A and E strings. The Jazz neck gives me a nice edge over the P neck. No dead spots anywhere on the neck while playing either.

+1 On the M6 Carbine, I used the M6 with a 2X12 PowerHouse cab.
