1. We play a few tunes that go down a storm. In fact we pride ourselves as "the covers band who play covers others don't" I not sure how true that is though. The one song that always gets people talking even after all these years is .....
This town ain't big enough for the both of us - Sparks.

  2.
I think they are a great band in general. I didn't realise they were over
They're not, but Stephen Page was booted out the band a year or so ago. He couldn't overcome his demons and I think some egos were too big for it all to carry on. Saw them a few times in the 90's and about 5 years ago at The Hummingbird in Brum. Best one was 97 in some little tent at The Phoenix Festival. They were sh1t hot.

BNL and Neil Young on the same bill .... happy days ....

  3. I have supported the Blockheads a few times. He is a fantastic bass player and one of the nicest blokes I have ever met. An absolute gent who enjoys a beer and a little bit of "woodshedin". All the Blockheads are game for a laugh.

This is what we got them to do last tome we supported them.

  4. Just done a few dates in Cornwall and my 2 year old daughter took it on herself to stand in front of me all night dancing. Then my other kids + one of their mates joined me for extremely cheesy picture, but spontaneous. My kids don't see me play very often, because we rarely play places where kids can go. It was a band, family and friends mini tour holiday which was fantastic and we have already booked for next year ...

really looking forward to the seedy joint we are playing Saturday night though ... :)

  5. I was harsh on Macca a bit, not that I suppose he will be bothered too much.

In my grumpy middle age I just can't be doing with him or The Beatles though. I feel the same way about ELO and The Eagles. Great songwriters and musicians etc.. but I think I would rather endure a reverse vasectomy and then a vasectomy again before the purple metropolis has subsided than listen to it ever again.

  6.
Disparaging Paul McCartney is a little like saying J.S Bach wasn't all he was cracked up to be. It's bollocks basically. Opinions aside, I'm sure if you got the chance to speak to John Entwhistle (god rest his soul), he'd tell you that Paul was a more than capable player who had a profound affect on The Who, and every other single band since the Beatles existence, whether they were aware of it or not.
I don't like The Beatles and I think Macca is a twat. Is that Ok?

  7. Most pub players including my humble self are light years in front of this raven haired twat. He has grasped defeat from the jaws of victory with over 30 years of solo pap.

I would like to bring Neil Young to the witness stand to show the world how to remain a dignified artist over 40+ years.

As for the 60's ??? I'm no expert but I seem to remember a nifty player called the ox?

Not popular I know ... but I just can't see it.

I suppose Phil Collins is a great drummer? :)

  8. I have both and love both equally. My maple seems a bit zingier and has a better slap tone. Both have wizzard pups but the RW is string through. There are tonal differences which I have put down perhaps more to the high density top feeding Gotoh bridge on the maple.

I don't know why but the strings on my maple seem to need changing more often. :)

  9.
This one shows the colour slightly better. It's a sort of bluey grey.

Wow ... You got C&A to make you a bespoke jacket to match. :)

+1 on the bass still being gigged, great stuff.

  10. I know he is a genius etc... but it leaves me cold, a bit like ELO or The Eagles. Great for 5 minutes and then the realisation that it's total sh1t.

Can I refer everyone to Neil Young last year to show everyone how it should be done .... with passion, brilliance, dignity and without compromise.

What makes all this even harder to stomach is that Richard Thompson is headlining a smaller stage right now and there is nothing!

    Your BBC ... my arse!
