1.
Hey Where is the 73 p you mentioned above? Was this bass made in USA or just bought there? Thanks Nick
it's a USA build not a Japanese had a few PM's asking about that but i thought the 'V' serial means it's a US build also regarding the '73 there is a thread in the 'For Sale' section on it thanks
2. hello Trev! i wouldn't call myself a bass player as such (i play a bit of everything i guess) but i do own an awful lot of basses so i guess i'm halfway there! and Karl thanks for the post about the price and the nice welcome in reply to the PM's asking if i'm interested in trades i traded a '77 Stingray to Gareth last week so i'm not looking for any other basses at the moment as well as the '73 precision i have up for sale at the moment i am going to add a '62 a '65 and couple of late '60's 4001's soon
Fancy seeing you here mate! I didnt even know you were a bass player! I can vouch for Sean (Sniperschool). He's a top man and straight as they come!
3. selling a few basses that aren't getting much use these days (sold a '77 stingray to Gareth last week) this is a nice '73 with original case (serial is 424171) the picture shows a non original pickguard but i have the original at the moment it has a lollar pup in it but i also have the original the input jack and tone control pot were replaced long ago and a graphite nut was added neck is straight and frets are still in great condition it's pretty light at under 9lbs feel free to mail me with any questions i also have a '62 Olympic white a '66 sunburst a '69 fretless sunburst and a sfew other non PB's that i am going to list i have the bass up for sale elsewhere i am in essex and can meet pretty much anywhere around London or if you want to arrange shipping then that's fine sean looking for £1,800 obo
4. what a nice guy we sat and talked and then swapped basses what better introduction could you have! sean
5. thanks to you! now i have to find someone to help me realistically price a '62 PB a '69 PB (fretless) a Fretless Wal in Walnut and a Status S2 with wood sides! then i can list them on here
6. thanks to everyone that got in touch with me about the Stingray and to everyone that PM'd with advice/info it's now in Gareths possession and i have his PB in exchange
7. thanks for all your help today Pete it has 'music man' under the saddles instead of on top which i've learned is correct on a '77 the pots are 1377733 LM21761373 LM2777 REV A and here's the pickup
8. here are the pictures as requested and price added (thanks to those members that PM'd me with advice on what to as for)
9. i brought it back from the states about 10 years ago the neck dated march 15th 1990 (serial is V046879) it's in great condition with a few small marks and light scratches on it (i should really clean them before i take pictures) it plays and sounds great but then i would say that case is a fender Nylon hard case feel free to ask any questions or if you want any more/specific shots it's in Essex/London but can meet send to anywhere in the UK if you want to sort out postage (i can pack it well) I'm new on Basschat but i'm a Moderator on www.gearslutz.com (same user name sniperschool) if you want/need a reference looking for £895 thanks sean
10. it's sounds great and is really effortless to play (i admit to being a guitarist so need all the help i can get) but i've got a few early 70's 4001's and a couple of 70's precisions and they just do what i need them to do some days i prefer the sound of the stingray but most of the time a PB will sit better in the mix (alternative rock) i would keep it but in all honesty it has sat for most of it's life (since the early 80's) in the studio not being played
11. thanks for that ou7shined the original owner thought it was a '77 or '78 so i looked on the Music Man bass website and that seemed to suggest a '77
12. hi thanks for the interest but i'm no looking for a fretless good luck with your trade though
13. hi I am looking to trade my Stingray (serial B006124) for a nice 70's precision with cash either way depending on what you have I think it's a '77 and i'm pretty sure everything is original but please correct me if something looks wrong As you can see from the pictures it's got some checking and wear to the finish (it actually looks much cleaner in real life) It sounds great and is really lovely to play ( i would say that but it's true!) looking for £1,625 obo if it's a sale rather than a trade i had put it down to £1,550 obo but it turns out that the case looks to be original after all so that's why it's gone back up It's in Essex/London but can meet pretty much anywhere in the UK if needs be I'm new on Basschat but i'm a Moderator on www.gearslutz.com (same user name sniperschool) if you want/need a reference Feel free to ask any questions Thanks sean Added a few more pictures that were requested Something about looking to see if it has a 'blobby black bit' under the knobs Also yes there are four felts/pads/dampeners or whatever they are called by the bridge
