W&T Zoid 5 String. This is an awesome bass in every respect,( looks and sound.) Hand made in Italy from specially chosen tone woods. PUPS are Nordstrand, Electronics are by John East. Thanks to everyone that has contributed here.............. what an amazing community. Seriously good to get such interesting views. It may well be a hot summer but i want to make an informed and rational decision and stay cool (including my 'love spuds!!) no need for talc or vaseline.

Ok here we go........................ does anyone have any thoughts re the choice between an oldidh (ie Mid 70's Fender P) and a new Xotic XP-1T 4 string? Would love to know your thoughts. especially pros and cons plus what you would choose and why???

Can anyone shed any light on late seventies Precisions with and additional jazz pickup near the bridge? What are these basses like? Can I get a good fat precision sound with this setup and can i switch the jazz pup out?

Any help or info would be very gratefully received.
