Green On Red and The Long Ryders.
-
Mines like a dog chewing a toffee.
Bit out of place on the ballads though....... -
If you really have to force a bass up his starfish,I suggest one of those 10 string monstrosities with a really wide neck!

But there's currently a German $$ going for a sub-RB price on this very forum, as well as an RB $$ too. So you've no excuse, really!

I'm skint,that's my excuse! -
Enjoy!

I'm on this bit about learning chords by number.....i'm a little lost
Could be the Nashville system.EG,key of G,//I/I/IV/VI// would be G/G/C/Em.
G is the first chord,C is the fourth etc. -
Had one,sold it,regret it.
New ones far too dear,so I'm Gassing for a Rockbass $$.Problem is they are as rare as hen's teeth. -

Is this Basschat or Eddie Izzard convention.
Dresses at a metal gig - come on guys - kilts I can accept (being a Scot) but dresses - Mmmmmm .
Are you sure bass playing isn't a front for some hidden craving to be a woman
All the best and yes I'm kidding - or am i ????

Congratulations,you've been Fumped!
If you've been left feeling slightly confused, worried, and scared for your own sanity, then you too have spoken to The Master of all Absurdity,His Fumpishness. -
Hi Fumps.I've been through bouts of insecurity with regards to my playing on many occasions.I finally realized that I needed to push myself if I wanted to improve.
If you find a way of playing that you like, then do it.Enjoy the way you do it.
Be open minded to all styles.Ask other band members what lines they think you should play.Get some bass books(I think The Bass Bible is the best for learning new styles).
Above all, enjoy the bass.Free your mind and your(b)ass will follow! -
Maple neck on a P-bass has to be the best combo ever.

When you're looking at changing cars the first thing you think of is fitting all the gear in.

Glad I'm not the only one who does that!
Toyota Aygo=no SVT! -

I saw them on Jools Holland and thought WOW,gritty soulful songs. But I'm afraid the CD leaves me cold.I admit I've only had a couple of listens so I'm going to let it(hopefully)grow on me.
Guitar played and bass player reminded me of Cropper and Dunn at their respective bests.

And after another listen.............underwhelmed.
I fell asleep during the album. Not a good sign.IMO the album is poorly recorded(strange background noises, drums distorting, instruments either too high or too low in the mix). -

Its early days (day one in fact!) but there is an amazing range of sounds available including modern, jazz-like and even a rich-sounding, fairly reasonable approximation of a P (not exact, as you would expect, but in a band context I doubt many would notice a big difference). This video sold it for me

GAS.Cheers for that ! -
I have to say that this sad news has really pi**ed me off.
Another wonderful musician gone. -
I got myself an aluminium camera case for my Markbass head.Room for head and leads inside.
-
I have one fitted to my Status Groove, which runs from the pup to the neck.I made it the same height as the pickup cover.I think I would find it awkward to play my bass without it now.
-
My first bass.I miss it still(sob)
-
If I ever sell my Groove,it has to be to our guitar player or he'll kill me.
His words,not mine.
And he's a big bloke. -

I quite fancy one of these basses, and would like to hear from anyone who has had any expierience with one of them.
I like the pup placement on these, and fancy going back to passive instruments.
